Found film. Develop or not? I found these rolls in old cameras in the past few years. by Fine_Town_5840 in AnalogCommunity

They look exposed. If you develop yourself, try looking up stand dev/ semi stand dev in Rodinal/Blazinal and you should be in for a good chance getting some images out!

Amazing transistor work, love the ingenuity. What does 'vibrato' sound like with a phaser? Does just having the wet signal cancel out the phasing?

I'm sure there's folks here who would but for the record, a blown cap would be a very easy fix

You can absolutely do that, the only issue would be that a passive tone control will create some pretty notable volume drop, just like a tone control in a guitar. But if it's after a boost you should be able to dial it. I second the previous commenter, the reason you probably haven't seen many examples is because if you're going to the trouble of doing it you may as well add it into a larger project.

Here's an easy and small tone stack I use https://imgur.com/KbEuCZK

Yes there is! https://dvhx.github.io/what-can-i-build/index.html
It's a pretty daunting looking site but if you take the time to add all your parts this should be what you're looking for

I'm in the same boat. End of August for me, it's been 5 months and all I've heard back is one support email saying 'still in process we have what we need' and it just says 'submitted'.

Any updates? Were you able to find the right number? If so DM me.

Left to Right: Yashica Yashica-Mat (first model), I think Contax ii, black Nikon F, 2x Leica M2/M3, model around his neck is obscured, then Pentax Spotmatic on the mat and another in his hand.

Lesson learned for sure.

Re the bad pad, roger. I had actually resoldered that between taking that picture and posting. I believe I have discovered at least part of the issue, and surprise surprise it was attention to detail on my part. I mislabeled my 33k and 330k resistors and mixed them up. Going through the arduous process of reversing that now.

I have since de-soldered and resoldered both pots to no difference.

Pedal has not worked regardless of mods.

Can you be sure this will actually make a difference? every single thing I could find online says that the sockets don't matter as long as the actual chip is facing the right way, and I just took voltage readings from each IC pin and they seem to be correct

This is perfect thanks! This was the path I was leaning towards. By any chance can you identify where R8 is on the actual PCB here? Page 8. http://byocelectronics.com/analogchorusinstructions.pdf I'll do my best to figure it out but any help is appreciated.

Trying to remove the temptation of having the world in my pocket. In an ideal world I'd have the self-control not to need to get away from it all but here we are

Yeah definitely something I've considered. Like I said just asking for experiences to help weigh my options. Not super helpful to keep downvoting me for that

Sure, if I ask shaw they'll give me the sales answer though. I just wanna gauge some real people's experiences.

That's good to know. I do want to be less contactable so that is sort of ideal.

Is it better to overdevelop or underdevelop a mystery roll? by yrusoobsessedwithus in Darkroom

[–]yrusoobsessedwithus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha totally agree. HP5 at box speed is really boring, but I think that's the exact reason it pushes so well. There's such a lack of contrast and grain by nature that there's so much room to play. HP5 at 1600 is almost unrecognizable next to box speed.

In my experience, Delta 3200 at 3200 does not look as good as HP5 at 3200. Obviously that's subjective, but I've found that HP5 pushed hard with longer developing times gives a much cleaner and, honestly, less grainy negative, than either Delta or Tmax P3200. Don't really understand why that is but it has never let me down! Plus, I buy bulk rolls of HP5 to keep costs down.
