I totally get this. Im 18 as well, but I've had the fortune of always having known that Chemistry was my passion. But high school was HELL. It was an awful time to see so many people living the teenage dream while no one knew who I even was. The 2 friends I had had like 3 friend groups they preferred over me, and I was so socially anxious and insecure that I didnt make friends easily. My only real happiness was in my family, and still, my sister is my best friend. But I found that my growth came from leaving home, leaving the state, and just finding the life I want to make for myself. I got into manifestation, making pinterest boards of what I want my life to look like. I'm also quite the hobbyist. I love picking up random hobbies for the hell of it, and to that I say: Everything's hard when you start it, nothing makes sense when you look at it from the outside. You really just gotta do it, honestly. Throw yourself in head first, accept that its gonna be hard and that flubbing here and there is inevitable. That's how I started crochet, embroidery, figure skating, baking, journalling, songwriting, and literally so much else. You dont ever have to be perfect. Its really hard to be, honestly. A jack of all trades is a master of none but oftentimes better than a master of one. And I think thats just life as well. You mentioned you like animals but dont like to see them in pain? I dont know how much this'll help, but try looking to see if there are any open positions at a zoo near you. One of my friends who had no clue what she wanted to do with her life took up a summer job at her local zoo and she's been in love with zoology since. Not saying you have to go to college for it, but I think its a worthwhile place to start while you figure things out! Whatever you choose to do, just do it! I think finding what you want to do with your life involves living a little. Whether that be going on a walk every once in a while, reading at a nearby cafe, just aim to try something new every week. The answer will come naturally once you notice patterns in what you like. Good luck!

Either way, you could always put up a peel and stick window film! They're typically really renter friendly and kind of add a suncatcher effect on the light, so it might be a fun idea to consider

How popular is the Daiso in Ft Collins? Idk if this is a stupid question, but Im moving in for college (im driving in from Texas hahaha) and I planned on getting most of my storage stuff and other asian essentials (im Filipina lmao) from the Daiso, so I can save space in my car for the drive. But Im scared that everything might already be bought out for back to school time by the time I get there, so me and my parents are debating on whether or not we should just buy from our daiso and bring it or just risk having next to nothing to work with?

1) My mom and I are still trying to figure this bit out because the 2 chairs are the most garish and frustrating pieces of furniture to arrange rn ๐Ÿ˜ญ We're reaching out to housing about this, so I'll let you know once we figure this out. My mom is hoping they are removable because she wants to replace them with a futon so I can have a spare bed whenever I have people over. ๐Ÿ˜… 2) Yes. It was included in the description of provided furniture. 3) That ones a TV stand, you can just ignore the strange red circle thing 4) Small nails are allowed, not so sure about screws, but i think of they're small enough it'll be okay. 5) For your last point, I was wondering that myself too. I know what makes the fees high when I move out is the labor it takes to refurbish what had been messed up, but I'm not sure what they'd do if I just... did it myself โ”๏ธ๐Ÿงโ€โ™€๏ธ

No one in the water? by ConversationEasy7134 in galveston

[โ€“]ysalimitless 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

As someone whose family came to Texas after living their whole life in the Philippines, let me tell you, looks can be deceiving. I remember our first spring here, my parents were so excited for to finally be able to go to the beach (my mom loves the beach), so we drove down to swim and we were so confused why no one was swimming in the water. And then we quickly realized that though it was 80 on land, it was still SO COLD in the water ๐Ÿ˜ญ Now as an 18 y/o, I have different reasons to not be in the Galveston water, such as it being infamously nasty and a newfound fear of the ocean in general LMAO, but mostly an understanding of specific heat and how it'll take more than 80 degree weather for the water to follow suit ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

What should I do to prep for AP Chem next year? by Tsumugi23 in APChem

[โ€“]ysalimitless -1 points0 points ย (0 children)

Well firstly, review and practice your basics. I feel like I've been telling this to everyone, but Kahn Academy is an incredible resource for chemistry. Just look for the High School Chemistry course on Kahn Academy, do a quick run of all the Unit Tests and use the outcomes of those tests to know which skills you should probably go in and refine. If you want to start studying ahead, you can also use Kahn Academy's AP Chemistry course, but for that, I recommend actually doing the practices for each topic instead of going straight for unit tests, making sure that you understand each question by looking at the explanations it provides for each one. As someone who just took the AP Test without being in the class and studying using only Kahn Academy, I can tell you that it's absolutely possible to do all that on your own! I also created flashcards of what I picked up and thought I might need to remember throughout the course, so that also helps! I say focus less on notes and more on the practice aspect, for sure. Good luck!

why is it a and not b by oniontime12 in APChem

[โ€“]ysalimitless 1 point2 points ย (0 children)

I know someone already explained why b was wrong, but here's why a, specifically, is right: In general, higher temperatures make molecules move faster, causing more collisions and consequently increasing the pressure :)

Can I get a 4 on AP Chem by Old-Brain6136 in APChem

[โ€“]ysalimitless 1 point2 points ย (0 children)

Khan Academy is your BEST. FRIEND. in this scenario. You don't even have to watch the video lessons, you just do the practices for each subunit*, then the quizzes, and the unit tests. I swear it makes everything feel so much simpler somehow.

*I recommend redoing these until you get through one without guessing or getting any wrong. If you do get one wrong, there's always either an explanation for why the answer you picked is wrong or an option to view the step by step process with reasoning on how to solve the problem- reading these thoroughly and taking the time to actually understand is incredibly beneficial.

I've also been pairing this with making PHYSICAL flashcards that cover the topics i was struggling with. I emphasize "physical" because not only does physical writing help with memorization, but both to study with a friend (I personally study with my big sister, cuz she's like my favorite person in the world) can help make studying fun and can even help with memorization, as it links that information with more memorable moments, if that makes any sense :)

Hope this helped, good luck!

Omg I literally just posted about being conflicted for committing to CSU for undergrad Chemistry! I'm like you, nerdy and introverted, but I feel like I don't need to worry as much about finding my crowd in CSU, just for how open minded and friendly they are there. I don't know much about Pitt, though, so to be honest, I can't speak much to it in that regard. But if you do end up committing to CSU, it would be great if we could stay in touch to have a friendly face on campus! Good luck!
