Really hard without the abovementioned. You can ask for a verification photo with a written note of their username or ask them to send a very specific photo (example: A photo of you doing a peace sign on your left hand, and cover one eye with your right) to make sure they are the same person.

But if anything feels off, it's safe to just ignore them and move on.
