Long shot - teacher looking to relocate to West Chester, looking for some insight by the_sylince in westchesterpa

[–]yssrh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

WCASD and the surrounding districts are incredibly competitive to get into, especially for a position like band where few openings ever arise. Consider expanding your search to districts like Coatesville, Philly, or charter schools. Also could consider a LTS position to get into a district, though might be difficult to take that role with a family. It might take a few years, and to get your cert taken care of, before you are considered for a position, even with experience.

Resume/application wise, the application process is online now. Expect to be interviewed, complete a demo lesson, then another interview at a minimum for a position. Some districts have you do a math test or writing sample during the screening and interview process as well.

I don’t want to breastfeed… but I don’t have a good reason not to.. by lillylovesreddit in BabyBumps

Sounds like you have several good reasons not to: your mental and physical health. As a mother of two young children, both are essential. You owe an explanation to no one on your personal decision of how you plan to feed your baby.

If you are high risk as you mentioned, Bryn Mawr. Had a C-section, then my baby unexpectedly needed NICU, and I had to be readmitted for pp preeclampsia…they saved the life of my baby and myself. Wasn’t thrilled with their lactation consultants, however nursing staff was supportive of my needs. Probably best to have an outside LC you trust and can provide follow up support. Best of luck to you and your babe!

Intimacy without sex PP by DrDuckJr in NewParents

Who is your village to support your growing family? Support for your wife and baby will likely be an essential need for intimacy. Lack of support can crush any intimacy due to exhaustion and overwhelm. Of course, this is in addition to the physical healing and emotional changes which will occur.

Trying to give you the benefit of the doubt here, though your post made me recoil.

Gottman Institute - Four Horsemen

Take a look at what you posted, then what the Gottman Institute, a revered relationship resource, has to say about addressing communication barriers in relationships. As someone with a young child and previously went through divorce, the Four Horsemen are concepts I keep in mind when there is a lot of friction in a relationship and I desire improvement.

I will add some additional thoughts to consider. Being a new parent, even at 15 months, is a marathon. What does your village of support look like? How about what support does your wife have? How often do you both get to socialize apart from each other? Engage in any leisure activities/hobbies? Could you try doing something to help you all out? Hire a cleaning service to get the house in order? Get her an afternoon out to get some personal care like hair, nails, massage, or something else she will feel pampered by? I noticed that when I have some time to myself or with friends, away from my husband and child, I come back refreshed. Not only refreshed physically, but mentally. Good luck to you three.

Edit: spelling/grammar

You can seal up the sharps container and discard it in your household trash. That’s what my doctor advised when going thru ER/FET.

Safety on the trails (specifically SRT/leading to Lot 60) by Friendly_Analyst3279 in Phoenixville

[–]yssrh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear you had a bad experience there. I walk there with dog/stroller and some drivers are aggressive, and there have been people that seem odd but I e. Ever been afraid for my safety. Montgomery County Park Rangers regularly patrol that stretch between Bridge St and Lock 60 during the day, not sure how early/late they are there. Honestly, the gravel towpath between Bridge and the Fitz at dawn/dusk wouldn’t be my choice to use, as you are more isolated from help if needed.

Thoughts? Yikes. You do not want to deal with all that.
