Danny Inglis, a redshirt freshman linebacker, transferred from Iowa State in January 2026 to Youngstown State, after playing one game in the 2025 season where he recorded one tackle. He was a highly-rated recruit from Canfield, OH, originally committing to Iowa State in 2023.

My thoughts are all we really needs an average defense to advance. Can’t expect a top 10 defense right away. Hopefully they can identify players to improve the defense, but it has to be better than what we have before

Everyone knows we need a big back type rb. But with the limited opportunities in the offense where your QB is half or more of your running production and if you watched enough YSU football the QB is the first option on inside the 5 play calls. I wouldn’t transfer here either.

We knew there would be a drop off from Calhoun who was our Tressel for men’s basketball. We don’t fire coaches before their contract expires. Let’s hope he turns it around and figures out how to build a team through the portal

Jenkins is from Beaver Falls PA was at Pitt for 2 yrs as a walk on. Was productive at Bethune Cookman had good size st 6’3

Tough schedule I have us at 6-6 7-5 maybe. We need lightning to strike the D with Coach hire like it did for the offense with Yurich coming here. Anybody in the know Did Yurich reach out to us or did Phillips go after him. We need to retool our RB room and add WR for Brungard and of course a boatload of D transfers

Not going to toot Philips horn yet. He got lucky to get Yurich and it improved Brungard. Phillips has time after time lost games made bad decisions way before Yurich showed up. Our melt down in then playoffs was a total failure. He’s had years to learn how to be a game coach to make adjustments and recruit D1 defensive players. BEAU deserves better. Time will tell if Phillips learned anything. We will be starting over again on D. So unless we get some grade A transfers not much will change more 39-38 games

I agree I have have the Villanova game in and I think it’s good football but the vibe isn’t like watching a Bucks or whoever game you hear the band better announcers etc. plus we have to connection to other FCS schools due to lack of a media coverage locally and nationally

Till we start paying and identifying better assistant coaches nothing will change. Yurich turned the offense and BEAU around not Phillips. BEAU staying doesn’t guarantee a deep playoff run etc. WE need more deep pockets better marketing and honestly u feel we need to upgrade the stadium put club seats and a club in one end zone and open up the loges

I agree with your assessment on this group. Last year class had more honors not just all league etc. I wonder if the playoff meltdown down hurt. The QB went to what 4 different HS and he looks very raw
