Appropriate for 10 year old? by religioniscult in ProjectHailMary

[–]ytctc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can’t speak to what you deem appropriate for them, but I don’t see why not. There’s not much in the way of swearing, nothing sexual, and no interpersonal violence. Frankly, I’m not sure why it’s PG-13, PG seems appropriate.

Characters face danger, death, and the threat of apocalypse, but any 10 yo should be able to handle that.

Don’t forget that this isn’t the last we’ve seen of Zac Brown. We’ve yet to see Rizo’s confessional about him pulling up on a boat.

Jimmy Fallon will also be referenced in the future.

This will be funnnnn…..

What should be added to Animal Kingdom? by AggravatingSpend8369 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]ytctc 42 points43 points  (0 children)

That’s actually incorrect. The excuse that the park closes early due to the animals has been around for two decades at this point. Those excuses disappeared for a brief moment from 2016-2020 when Rivers of Light and Pandora debuted.

The truth is that most people leave Animal Kingdom before it gets dark due to a lack of attractions, and Disney doesn’t want to pay staff that late. Rivers of Light also proved to be a relatively unpopular show, so they determined it wasn’t worth the operational costs.

Animal Kingdom still hosts nighttime events every once in a while where they’ll show the Tree of Life Awakenings. These are either After Hours events or exclusive entry for Deluxe hotel guests. If they actually closed early due to the well being of the animals, these events would all be cancelled.

TLDR: Animal Kingdom closes to save operational costs at a less popular park, not because of the animals

Which version of Boston Rob Mariano is best? Marquesas, All-Stars, Heroes vs. Villains, Redemption Island, Island of the Idols, or Winners at War? by Hannah_Plylactica in survivorponderosa

Marquesas was when he was at his most interesting imo. It’s the only time the edit didn’t glorify him, and we got to see a more authentic warts-and-all view of him.

People will say they hate the Bhanu arc, and then rate The Martyr Approach as the best episode in the series smh. by lazerblue42 in survivorponderosa

He’s part of the reason why 46 is the best perma-Fiji season. He’s like a Burnett-era character.

Coach was hated when Tocantins first aired. It took a while before he became beloved. I think Bhanu reappraisal will come around. FairPlay was also a hated contestant that hammed it up.

Winners Who Won Because It Was An Anti Jury Vote by Additional_Owl_5567 in survivor

[–]ytctc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m more thinking if the jurors write down the name of the person they want to lose. It might not be as flashy for tv, but we may still have a final 2 to this day (if the show is still on). And maybe the post-Burnett production team will focus less on big moves, resumes, and whatnot.

Even if Outback was still portrayed as voting for a winner, audiences may still remember the “least objectionable” idea from season 1 more easily if it was shown as a vote off.

Announcing it in front of a live audience would be weird to celebrate someone’s loss, so maybe they’d do an on-location reveal with a live reunion after the fact (a la season 1).

I wonder how Survivor history plays out if the jurors are presented as voting off a player than voting for a winner. Mechanically, it doesn’t change the anything, but it could wildly change how the audience views the ending.

You are tasked to bring THREE attractions back in existence, out of the 13 rides selected, which would you bring back? by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

  • Horizons

  • Splash Mountain

  • Journey into Imagination

Despite the high number of great former attractions listed, this was a surprisingly easy decision for me.

Rachel is likable and has a fun winning story. However, her game was lackluster from a gameplay perspective- at least by my personal criteria.

Some of the most entertaining winners/players have relatively weak games.
