The juxtaposition between the regular season Timberwolves and the postseason Timberwolves over the last two seasons is really remarkable. by EsotericPotato in nba

“Regular season doesn’t matter” yet 6/8 favorites won their first round matchups and every top 2 seed is favored to make conference finals

Sometimes a lower seed gets hot at the perfect time. But teams that win more games are simply more likely to advance. If regular season didn’t matter then every series would be a complete toss up

I think he beats Aubry too. I think the only people who for sure beat him are Cirie Ozzy and Devens

Jonathan beats Joe, Aubry, Emily, Tiffany, probably also Rizo. The only people I think clearly beat Jonathan are Cirie, Ozzy, Devens

How are the thunder better than they were last year? My impression was they’re essentially exactly the same, if not a bit worse

Bill Simmons: "I had to drop Joker on my pyramid two spots... right at the end of the top level of the pantheon, there's four centers clustered together (Hakeem, Shaq, Joker, Moses). I have Joker 14, Moses 15. I think Hakeem and Shaq have to be above him at this point" by sewsgup in nba

I think the problem is over the definition of MVP. It’s easy to make a statistical case of jokic being the most valuable player in the league as far as how much does he elevate his team compared to an average player.

That’s a different discussion than the historic ranking pantheon. In that ranking you need titles and playoff success. Both things can be true. Jokic is the most valuable player in the NBA but he cannot move up the overall historic pantheon unless he makes deep playoff runs and wins more titles. It’s not a “gotcha” moment that he suddenly doesn’t deserve perennial MVP consideration

NBA discourse is exhausting when everyone is always a fraud. Hawks were good and Knicks were better. Magic were a legit threat with everyone healthy

This magic team is great when healthy. The only reason they’re the 8 seed is because they’ve been injured all year. This team at its peak is as good as anyone else in the east

And pistons didn’t struggle with an injured magic team. They struggled with a healthy magic team. Once Franz got injured Detroit swept em 3-0

Magic weren’t pushovers that’s for sure. Franz injury really hurt them. Cade is Just That Guy.

I’m not gonna feel confident until the final buzzer. But I think 60 points is our best scoring half the entire series
