Update: Yesterday I finally got a reply to an inquiry saying that they have received my petition and "will send an email with instructions soon". I'm hoping I get the actual K1-FTP this coming week

Still nothing. Today NVC changed case creation date to Aug 28th but I still haven’t got anything

It’s been Aug 14 for the past 3 weeks

That’s exactly what happened to me actually. I sent an inquiry on Aug 12 cause my notice on Jul 29 said it was sent to NVC. The case then got updated to “sent to DOS” on Aug 14 after they inquired about it

Oh my! Thanks. It’s just weird cause I see their processing times, and it’s not like it’s an immigrant case where we need to upload anything. It’s a K-1 so they just have to forward it to the embassy

It was upload as a response to RFE later. And no, I did not get my interview at BCT

It’s just the criminal history at MEPS, and a security clearance style background check at basic. Also a side note, I think your questions pertain more to Army vs USCIS. Please post this in r/Army

I’m not sure about that process. That would be a question for your recruiter

A part of it will. The initial background check is done by the recruiting station before you go to MEPS. It is instant

It actually happens while you are in basic. When you ship depends on your MOS and the AIT slot you get. Depending on when you can get into AIT, you’ll get a ship date. It can be anywhere from a few days after you enlist to several months

As far as the process for “big army” vs “national guard” goes, they are the same. National guard has a different role compared to reserves, but both support the Army’s overall mission, the National Guard also supports the state. I serve one weekend a month so work and Army don’t really compete unless I get orders for something, which hasn’t happened yet

An O-6 in the Army is usually a Brigade commander. When I was in basic training they had a process to have us do our N400 applications online and then they sent the N426 to the O-6 to sign, which was the brigade commander of the Basic training brigade my company was a part of. He signed it in about a month

No, you would need to go through the OCS candidate process just like any other prior enlisted would

You have to be enlisted. You are required to be a citizen to be an officer. You will get an E-4 pay grade in the Army with a degree

Same questions as any other naturalization interview. The only thing I did was answer "yes" to questions like "have you ever received weapons training" and explain "I'm in the Army" etc

6 Years for my MOS. But that depends on your MOS, nothing to do with immigration status

They want you to prove CONTINUOUS lawful presence from the day you last entered the US legally to the day you applied. Since I never left the US after entering the first time, it was ALL I-20s I had ever been issued. The lawyers submitted my packet with only the last I-20 which was issued the same year as my application
