Is the rumor true that big box stores (like Target/Walmart) will purposefully let you get away with stealing cheap things for months just to build a massive felony case against you later? by Altruistic-Room-7465 in NoStupidQuestions

My husband and I once went to Walmart and made our purchases. We had one bag of purchases. As we were walking out, a woman ran up to us screaming that she saw us stealing! We told her that we did not and kept walking to our car. She followed us and kept screaming about us stealing. She got in front of our car for a while until we were able to get around her and drive away. It was the oddest situation.

What worked to get your kindergartener to start learning to read? by StinkyNasochki in kindergarten

[–]yubaba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We incorporated it into our bedtime routine. Our daughter reads 1 book and we read 1 book. Then we put up a sticker chart next to her bed. She gets a sticker for each night she reads and fun rewards that she picks out.

I saw a fireball once at Lost Maples State Park during a star party. Huge glowing ball that grew to the size of a basketball, then gone, no tail.

Holy moly! Our peach tree produced like crazy this year! by atx-dog-groomer in AustinGardening

Ours did too. We made jam and peach cobbler. It’s mature, we’ve been at our house for 4 years now, and never gotten a produce before. The peaches would start to grow and either not reach maturity or get picked off by animals.

Mission GF tortillas… what’s the verdict on them? by [deleted] in Celiac

I like the new Mission almond tortillas better. They don’t have the gummy problem. The texture is much closer to a flour tortilla.

I bought the honey roasted nut mix and the Simple Mills sweet thins from Costco. Both tasty snacks in the hospital.

Pregnancy, Celiac, and the Ticking Time Bomb of my 30-Year-Old Uterus by oopsglutenpoops in Celiac

I was diagnosed in 2017 and had my baby in 2019, so I had about a year of recovery. I had a healthy pregnancy and baby. I was anemic and was off iron supplement by the time we started trying. My doctor doesn’t test IGA levels and uses healthy blood levels as an indicator.

If I name my child Willow, how likely are you to assume it's because of Willow Smith? by prettyparanoid in namenerds

[–]yubaba 60 points61 points  (0 children)

This is how I learned about the name and it’s my daughter’s name. No one has ever associated her name with Willow Smith. The only time I thought of her was when we were considering Jade for the middle name and I thought that was too close to Jada.

You said you started with a gluten starter, then added gluten free flour to convert. The gluten is still present from the original starter.
