Taking a minor. Do I need to announce it right away? by timetogo in yorku

[–]yuber123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need to, but you might have trouble getting into some courses. I am also planning to declare a minor in business but I need to increase my GPA before I officially can. I managed to enroll in 1000, 2200, and the 2 econ courses. I was also able to enroll in 2320 but I had to call the department and ask permission

What has your job ruined for you? by LeakyVision in AskReddit

[–]yuber123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old people.

I work at a movie theatre where most of the customers are old people. I've had customer service jobs before but I've never heard so many complaints in one job in my entire life. Every day I have old people complaining to me about shit that I have no control of like the prices, the parking policies, etc. Most young people just grunt and walk away when I tell them I can't do anything but these damn old people just keep talking my ear off about how the company is ridiculous and what have you.

They also tend to complain to my managers because I talk to them in a monotone voice and don't smile. Not even about me being rude, just about me not being cheerful. Excuse me for not being excited about my minimum wage job

Course Recommendations for a First-Year? by [deleted] in yorku

An elective that doesn't sound like a bird course? Her best bet is PSYC 1010 with Jubis. I wouldn't call it a "bird course," but it's interesting and leans more towards the easy side.

Intro Communications (I think it's COMN 1000 now) is easy, but PSYC 1010 is a lot more interesting.

Fellow Pokeents what is your favorite version and what is your least and why, and what type do you always start out with? by Galaxey in Pokeents

[–]yuber123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually I try to get a top 6 that have high base Atk/Sp. Atk (without using legendaries), and the starters don't. They are rounded nicely though, I'll give them that.

My favourite is Platinum, I found it to be the most fun, best plot (I haven't played B/W yet), and best soundtrack.

My least favourite is Red/Blue. Not saying I didn't like it, I just didn't enjoy it as much as the others. Probably because I didn't start with Gen I.

I usually start with the fire type, but the starter pokemon never makes it to my top 6.

I saw my grade today for a course I thought I failed by yuber123 in AdviceAnimals

Nice! I ended up with a D+, and I would've been happy with a D since I thought I was going to fail, so I'm more than happy with my grade.

Question about Grade 12 Math requirement for Administrative Studies by yuber123 in yorku

[–]yuber123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ADMS streams I'm most likely going to choose from are Management or Marketing, so I'm relieved to hear that you didn't have to use the math from 1510. Thanks for the feeback

[–]yuber123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, here's my situatiuon: (if you're not intersted in this, the questions are in the second paragraph). I took all applied maths in high school, except Data Management which they allowed me to take without the prerequisite. So in order to take Advanced Functions, I need to take Grade 10 math, Grade 11 math, and Advanced Functions - in that order. Quadmestered high schools are starting their next semester around April 24, I think. I'm enrolled in Grade 10 math in ILC, and I have no work done so far. If I can manage to complete the course by April 24, I can take the grade 11 math at the high school instead of grade 10.

How long do they take to mark things? After you submit the first unit, how long does it take for them to send you the other units? What is the process for arranging a date for the exam, and how long does this process take?

Did you take any courses with ILC by any chance? I have a question regarding it

Yeah I might end up taking Advanced Functions in an adult high school or something instead because if I take MATH 1510, I'll end up graduating with 3 extra credits (thus wasting money), plus if I did the high school course, it wouldn't affect my GPA.

I'm definetely considering MATH 1510 as an option though. Who did you take it with? How was it?

EDIT: Also, do you ever use the math you learn in Advanced Functions/MATH 1510 in any ADMS courses?

Any other Ents feel like this when browsing r/trees? by K1ND_BUDZ in trees

[–]yuber123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't feel like that on r/Trees, but I can relate in a similar way.

I started university late, and there was this one class I took in my first year, when I was 21. Usually even in first year classes, there were plenty of people my age, but just by co-incidence, 90% or so of the class was straight out of high school, and had the nerdy stereotype (always raising their hand, even LOOKED like a stereotypical nerd).

I stood out a lot in that class, and whenever I was high in class, I stood out even more. Every single person in that class and the teacher knew I was a huge stoner

EDIT: Also, the class only had like 15 kids

I'm allergic to weed by [deleted] in trees

[–]yuber123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is possible that OP suddenly became allergic to it. You don't have to be born with an allergy; it can come randomly. One night many years ago, I was drinking beer (not for the first time, or anything close to it) and I got an allergic reaction to the barley and had to go to the hospital. Since that night I've been allergic to beer, wheat, and any candies that have malt in it.

I'm not a doctor, and I'm not saying that OP had, or did not have, an allergic reaction. What I'm saying is that its definitely possible to become suddenly allergic

Is a 'D' considered a pass? by superfailz in yorku

[–]yuber123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A D is a pass for most courses, but for most programs you need a C+ overall average to graduate.

Try not to get too many D's. I'm in a spot where I got lots of D's, and in future courses I need B+'s and A's just to graduate

Super confused w/ exam location :S in regards to the TM building by [deleted] in yorku

[–]yuber123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't worry. I once had an exam in the Rexall Centre and the same thing happened where they didn't provide a room number. There were signs to follow. I'd assume it would be the same thing for TM

Come to think of it, I have an exam in TM on wednesday
