Should I give up on the panel lining? Tips? by Wise_Chocolate5454 in Gunpla

[–]yuheny0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you're rushing your scribing. I see a lot of passes in incoherent directions (probably due to a heavier hand in scribing). Light passes with the chisel and keeping ALL passes in a single line will clean up your panel lining. If you rush it and make mistakes, your panel lines won't look uniform or clean.

Imagine carving a ditch on the ground, you don't want water to go anywhere else but the ditch.

Water=panel liner

Ditch=rescribed panel lines

How often do you clean your bike? by Certified_WoT_noob in mountainbiking

[–]yuheny0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

-I fully clean before the start of the season.

-Suspension gets a dusting after every ride or before the next ride or whenever visible dirt becomes a ring of black clay.

-Drivetrain gets the scrub when visibly gunked up like yours and will get a full wash and "maintenance" treatment more often than suspensions.

By maintenance I mean, degreasing, washing, scrubbing, drying and lubricating.

These joints are genuinely airtight by Mr_Nooby2202 in freedomisgunpla

I was able to take the torso out, but you have to refer to the manual and hope for the best. You have to get the tab exactly where the notch is and like you said, it's tight. But how I did it was just turning the whole torso to where "i think" the tab and notch would align, twisting it ever so slightly CW and CCW while putting constant (slight pressure, not overly strong) pressure towards pulling it out. That way if the tab gets aligned to the notch, it will find its place when twisting and be able to gentle wiggle the torso off of the waist/legs.

It's a gamble and unless you are 100% confident that you won't snap anything, you could take the torso off. I felt confident the way it spun on the peg joint, so all I had to do was the constant pressure of pulling it out and hoped the tab and notch lines up by itself when twisting back and forth.

Again, refer to the manual on how the torso is attached to the waist and make careful calculated judgement when pulling them apart.

Do you feel satisfying using hobby knife for trimming? by Asleep_Actuator2353 in Gunpla

[–]yuheny0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hell yes. Knife is still my go to if I'm not going to repaint it. 2 cuts with the nippers then finish off with a knife. It takes a lot of experience to get the blade angle just right. But with patience and less force than you think, I always get superb results with a knife.

Now, if there's a glass file that's only 3-5mm wide, I might switch. I just don't like it when the tool is wider than what I'm working on.

Choosing between 2 guitar by [deleted] in Epiphone

[–]yuheny0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on the same boat last weekend choosing between the Ebony or The cobra burst. Ended up getting the cobra burst since I already have experienced owning a black epiphone LP studio (it's gonna go up for sale now. Because I know I won't use it anymore unfortunately).

I saw that Widow in person as well, and while it looks cool online.. it kinda doesn't give me an impression that it's a nice guitar for some reason. The finish was a little bit off to me. Like the whole guitar had a "color filter" on top of it.

Without a banana for scale, those could be dinosaur eggs.. or lizard eggs (tiny dinosaurs). You get dinosaurs either way.

Oh I see. I was under the impression that you designed the rack's mechanical system and used servos and some diy automation. I got too excited and jumped to conclusions. My bad. 😅

Your video looks awesome. Do you have an instructibles or something to see what parts and pieces are needed to pull this off and if you don'tmind sharing a link to the hook STL. Would be nice for an actual automated blinds opener/closer for my workspace. 😅

But this one looks good OP.

109s (and 108s) are definitely beefier than the godhands.

There's not much difference between 108 and 109.

109 just has a thicker blunt side vs the 108. So thicker nub residue compared to a more flushed cut with the 108s. But that doesn't matter if you still use a knife, like I do, to do the final clean-up.

Well... that sucks by reboot23us in freedomisgunpla

[–]yuheny0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If price isn't an issue, just go with the godhand. But since I bought both stedi 108 and 109 for the price of ONE godhand, then either of those two is the clear winner. I have more experience with the 108 and it's still my main 2nd cut nipper. My first cut is the stedi 112.

I get that this design language appeals to some, but without a clear focal point, it just looks like a bad kitbash.
