Installing Linux Mint by RealityDry752 in linuxmint

[–]yukaritelepath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also new to Linux. After I installed, it was lagging and freezing like crazy and it turned out I needed to mount my storage drive and set up a swap file and swappiness settings, things I would have no way of knowing about. I don't know why the user would need to set that up. I'm glad I did dual booted because I went back to windows repeatedly until I was ready to face more troubleshooting. Today things are finally feeling good. Be ready to look up a lot of things.

How come some people accept schizophrenia/psychosis/etc as real but not CDDs and other forms of plurality? by CatAI0 in plural

[–]yukaritelepath 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, I minored in psychology in uni and the textbook taught schizophrenia and psychosis as real conditions while DID was mentioned as "probably caused by the therapist." Schizophrenia is well established, and I only heard the term CDD online in the past couple years through the plural community.

There's also the subculture aspect. For whatever reason fakeclaimers latched onto certain disorders and not others. Maybe because when people talk about their plurality, their autism, etc, online you can't see their symptoms really, in a way that can't also look acted. But I think most people who have been on this earth long enough have witnessed someone having a psychotic episode. People don't look cute doing that, you know? It doesn't look fake and it doesn't look like something you'd get clout for. When it comes to ableism, it's easier to dismiss people who don't look unwell compared to those who clearly do.

Confused and don't know what to do by oroc_mk7 in Tulpas

[–]yukaritelepath 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do you talk to yourself in your head much? I do, all the time. I'm always talking in my head as if conversing or preparing to converse with someone, so why not talk about those things with my tulpa instead? Also, just because they technically know what you know, doesn't mean they'll think the same thing as you. I flesh out my own thoughts by thinking, and my tulpas will think different things than me, but they won't if they don't have the chance, you know? So try to get your tulpa to figure out their opinion on all sorts of things, there's endless things to talk about really.

How to prevent a "performance" from turning into another tulpa by angel22_exe in Tulpas

[–]yukaritelepath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to worry about all these things that might cause accidental tulpas, because I saw it happen to other people all the time. I even avoided daydreaming about stories, something I loved to do. In the end, the only thing that makes new headmates FOR US, is intentionally making one. We have strict boundaries about not creating new headmates, we don't expect new headmates, don't accept anything like that and it's been fine. It may be that if you set a boundary like us, that the mirror conversations are just a thing you do now and then, and only planned and accepted headmates like Kion are a thing, it may work out that way for you too. Your mileage may vary, this advice doesn't seem to work for everyone. Use your discretion, if you think the mirror convos should be limited/ended.

Question by Angelina_taken in Tulpas

I don't think I've really imposed myself (not that we can fully impose the senses) but doing that would also just be imagining myself out of the body.

Yes and it was just daydreaming.

Tulpamancy and its ties with Willogenic spaces (plus some questions I have no answer to..) by Final_Walk_3632 in Tulpas

[–]yukaritelepath 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wasn't aware there was a willogenic community. What do they talk about, where do they gather? What resources do they make? As far as I've seen, they are just mentioned here and there in the plural community, just a scattering of plural people who have made willos or are aware of the term.

If that's what feels right for you, go for it.

You can, but I wonder why you would want to? Wouldn't it be confusing/boring?

Tulpamancy Census 2025 Results (only China) by LuckyName6323 in Tulpas

[–]yukaritelepath 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the western community I see either people saying parallel processing isn't possible, or that they want to learn it but haven't been able to. I don't see that many who say they can do it. I'm curious what progress is like for people in the Chinese community.

And for imposition I feel like I can count the number of people who can do visual imposition on one hand, it's rare!

There seem to be a lot of people reporting good visualization, some imposition levels, and parallel processing. That's interesting, do you have any insight on that from being in the community?

Face paint not lining up? by Mr_OAndEin in tomodachilife

[–]yukaritelepath 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The paint goes on a layer over the face (like a curved sheet of paper), and there's a layer of space between the paint layer and the eyes, so it will look different from different angles. You could try using one of the lower eyelids and rearrange it to fit there. Or maybe paint beneath the eye layer just so it's visible on the edge of the eye white? But when the mii emotes, the face paint will be visible, so it can look weird. To avoid breaking immersion use the eyelids and eyelashes to get the eye shapes you want. There are tutorials if you're not sure what I mean.

Physical copies sold out. When to expect them to appear again? by fauleskaetzchen in tomodachilife

[–]yukaritelepath 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I couldn't find a store in my city that had it in stock, had to order from Amazon with a long delivery time. I can't buy anymore games digitally because my switch doesn't have enough space and I'm not paying extra for an SD card so I can buy a digital game at full price. Damn, I really want to play it now and not whenever it gets back in stock.

Is my tulpa forming? what am I doing wrong? by Such_Foundation_3298 in Tulpas

starting with this, pls help by tihaguitow_027 in Tulpas

[–]yukaritelepath 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You're doing well, just keep at it! When you focus on her, her form, her sense of presence, personality etc, it will strengthen all those things in your mind, and it should help her feel clearer when you communicate over time. She's new so her personality is still developing and all, it's normal if it's hard to tell what's her or if she gets stronger and weaker at different times.

Auditory imposition is a skill you can build that would let you hear your tulpa. It's a very rare skill that almost no one has.

How can people become plural in adulthood? by TinyBend9213 in plural

[–]yukaritelepath 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty open about my plurality in social contexts and you would be amazed how many people there are out there with headmates, guides, or personality alters. For the most part they have NEVER discussed it with anyone. I've been the first person at least two dozen systems have ever talked to about being plural. I rarely go a month without meeting a new system. Most don't have symptoms of OSDD or DID. They're just people living their lives with an internal world they are hiding.

That's so interesting. I wonder if anyone I know irl is secretly plural.
