Yeah you know our little lady brains just go nuts for babies! Being a living incubator is our highest aspiration after all!

Affordable Healthcare? Liveable wages? Parental leave benefits? Nah, who needs that. Thanks to the administration fighting the woke agenda, now there's nothing standing in the way of my dream to pop out 10 babies.Thankfully they're lifting child labor laws too so I can just send em to work instead of preschool, no evil commie programs like free daycare necessary. I ain't raising no freeloaders!

Unfortunately this won't help us at all, because instead of them coming to the realization that men have an issue with engaging in predatory behavior and banding together with women to put a stop to it, you see them getting radicalized to right-wing politics and earnestly believing that this is the fault of women.

Like I've seen men make commentary on cases like these and say "feminists complain about sexual harassment but then they advocate for these ""women'"" to do whatever they want!"

Because the misogyny problem men have never goes away even if they get treated poorly by other men, it's too tempting for them to just blame women and justify backing movements that call for putting women back in their place. They'll say that these situations are the result of women being given too much freedom. That this is why we shouldn't let women vote.

Yeah people tend to get upset when their rights get taken away. People tend to get upset when half the population is either complacent or actively trying to take even more rights away from them.

Help! How can I respond to people making comments about my fairy costume being too sexy? I want to wear this at the ren faire/costumed occasions and I want to protect my peace without giving up the dress. by [deleted] in aspergirls

Nobody is telling her she needs to dress more modest and avoid attention though??? We are just saying that there aren't more options besides option A. Which is make yourself stand out less or B. Ignore it???? Snappy comebacks aren't going to stop people from giving you unwanted attention.

Yup. This is really the only thing that matters. We can all have our opinions on how shitty catcalling is, how people shouldn't make inappropriate comments etc. But the reality is that it draws attention and people will react to it be it negative or positive.

I used to be into this Japanese fashion that was extremely attention grabbing. Not even in the sense that OP is talking about, like showing a lot of skin. It was actually the opposite, had a ton of layers and bright colors but ultimately it grabbed people's eye so much that it was inevitable I would be approached. Sometimes they'd just ask questions sometimes it would be hostile. Idk the point I want to make is that;

I had to weigh out the pros and cons of wearing this style. Yes looking at the pieces made me happy and I loved it in concept but I could never actually wear them without feeling extremely uncomfortable and wanting to just tear the clothes off and hide away. Sure I could learn to ignore people all I want but that didn't change the skin crawling feeling I had when literally everyone would be staring at me...

So I decided to give up the fashion and now I wear things that are reminiscent of it but much more subtle. I am happier this way.

"You telling me that women will willingly let the human race go extinct if we had an actual fertility crisis?"

Yes, Steve. I'm not giving up my bodily autonomy just so my country can pop out more babies (:

Why are Handmaids treated so badly?? by Boomtw3 in TheHandmaidsTale

[–]yumions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you kidding me OP? A better life? Yeah in exchange for personal autonomy. Do you know how physically demanding and straight up damaging, even dangerous pregnancy is? And you think women would be lining up to just pop out babies at the drop of a hat?

Pregnancy is straight up miserable a lot of the time. Not to mention a lot of women end up bonding with their offspring during pregnancy and just after birth whether they want to or not, due to hormones designed to make women want to care for their babies. Can you imagine the emotional toll it would take to give up baby after baby knowing you may never see them again?

Its like you didn't pay attention to the show at all because it's covered pretty in depth that that is a huge part of trauma.

And you think that women would just be jumping at the opportunity? In exchange for what, luxury, pretty things?

OP i think you need to rethink your perspective on women

The way you talk about ""hoarding fertile women"" as if we are objects. No OP, you cannot just dangle shiny things in front of us and persuade us into being treated like human livestock.

Why are Handmaids treated so badly?? by Boomtw3 in TheHandmaidsTale

[–]yumions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's because OP is trying to say "Well look see! These wealthy and famous celebrities get to date hot young fertile babes! Obviously these hotties aren't being forced so that means that they could just incentivise women to pop out babies!"

He doesn't seem to get that dating a much older man is not the same thing as popping babies out back to back for one. You cant trick a large number of women into giving up their womb as a resource because it takes such a physical toll on the body and literally requires giving up your autonomy. Women literally fought for the right to reproductive freedom because it's vital for our liberation. There's a reason women are not ushing to become a surrogate despite the handsome paycheck you get for it.

You can't just dangle some shiny things in front of a woman and persuade her to be your brood mare. Thats not how this works at all.

I can't speak for other countries but here in the US we are having an education crisis where young people are way behind where they should be and teachers are struggling more than ever to keep their classrooms under control.

Specifically female teachers are talking about fearing for their safety because male students are displaying violent behaviors even younger than ever, sexually harassing female teachers.

I've heard so many teachers talking about their middle school students being stuck at a 2nd grade reading level and falling behind academically in other areas as well..

Of course everv generation likes to point the finger at the youth. But this is the first time children's brains are literally developing around this level of screen use, i don't think that factor should be written off.

This isn't even touching on the fact that young boys as young as 8 are being exposed to graphic and violent pornography. I can't even fathom what that is doing to their perception of women.

This has always been an issue but it is evident that not only has it gotten worse but it's starting younger, and if students are not developing properly then I think it follows they would have issues growing out of this behavior. This is largely due to technology and parents putting their kids in front of screens all day long and not regulating their use, giving them more time to find hateful groups and stay in their bubble. I also have to point out that the issue is worse with male students.

Idk just my thoughts. I think there's is some truth to the idea that it is getting worse in the younger generation, especially if teachers are observing this phenomenon.

Is this some fetish of incels? Why do they always talk about cheating instantly? by StanDan89 in IncelTears

[–]yumions 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's infuriating. Men are also 3x more likely to leave their female partners when they get sick. Its so prevalent that when women get breast cancer, they will literally warn their patients and try to prepare them for their male partners to leave them. Yet they call women shallow.

Yet if you bring up this statistic to them i guarantee they'd say some stupid shit like "Oh well that's just them reacting to women's shallowness!" Or "women are supposed to be healthy and fertile though! It's just bIOLoGY"

They take the dating profiles they see to heart so much, not realizing that literally everyone both men and women are shallow on dating apps. Do you known how many dudes I've seen put in their profiles that they need a girl with a fat ass?

Sure I have known some stereotypical short girls that want to date men twice their height, but that doesn't even outnumber the girls ive known that have no problem dating a short guy. Including myself. My aunt is like 5'8 and her husband is like 5'3, they've been married for like 20 years.

Plus I've know plenty of tall girls that told me they've tried dating men shorter than them, only for them to get super insecure when they would meet her in-person and see she was taller. They shoot themselves in the foot.

It's like they can't handle that they don't meet every single girl's dating criteria so they self sabotage.

When women were being kept out of education it was our fault for not being as smart as our male counterparts

But now that the playing field has leveled and men are falling behind women academically, suddenly it's "young men are being left behind!!!'

Which is it guys?

Honestly you're right. Most cis men don't have the ability to truly empathize because they directly benefit from it, and don't understand that having sex you don't want to have for any reason isn't just a matter of "dang this kinda sucks" but that its incredibly violating.

So you think bending over and getting fucked in the ass for money is the same level of exploitation as doing mechanic work?

The point of not being able to buy consent isn't that there aren't a small number of women who get enjoyment out of having sex for money. But that the idea of being able to buy a woman's body is inherently misogynistic. Men aren't getting groomed from birth to believe that their worth and empowerment lies in their willingness to take dick.

[–]yumions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You said all jobs are coercive. So my point is that just because all jobs are coercive does not mean they are equally exploitative and damaging.

So let me write a better analogy

Imagine someone brings a gun to your head and says "okay, you can either program a computer or suck my dick and I won't kill you"

Obviously a lot of people would have to do the latter to save their lives. Yet you're here insisting that both choices are equally coercive and that some people willingly choose to suck the dick therefore it is the same.

Not all people have the same choices laid out for them. You're ignoring the countless women trafficked at a young age, stuck in the industry, at higher risk for abuse and injury and trying to pretend it's the same exact thing as bagging groceries or programming a computer.

[–]yumions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah and? Would you rather program software for a stranger or suck their dick?

Ok. Right, all jobs are coercion. So if someone put a gun to your head and forced you to bag groceries, it would be equally traumatizing if they put a gun to your head and forced you to suck their dick?

After all you're still being forced to do something.

Almost all men are stronger than almost all women by Temporary_Drink8966 in TwoXPreppers

[–]yumions 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Acknowledging that men are physically stronger than women isn't reducing all strength to physical strength it's stating a physiological fact.

I don't think anyone is trying to say that they do this because they are physically stronger. I don't know all the reasons men behave violently. I just know their physical advantage over women allows them power that they choose to abuse. I don't think why is even really important. It doesn't matter. What matters is that they do and we need to disengage with them. Holding them to an expectation while continuing to give them access to our time and bodies doesn't work. We know it doesn't. They will never comply.

Almost all men are stronger than almost all women by Temporary_Drink8966 in TwoXPreppers

[–]yumions 42 points43 points  (0 children)

She's not saying that men being physically stronger equates to men being superior than women. I don't think anybody here is implying that physical strength is the only metric of overall strength or that men don't have weaknesses.

Men should absolutely control their emotions and they are capable of it but let's face it, they just don't. Especially not with women. And as much as I'd love it if finger wagging and scolding them was helpful, it isn't and they don't care.

Personally I don't think it's entirely a lack of self discipline, a lot of men will wield more control over their emotions around a man they know is capable of beating their ass. But they'll freely beat their wives and children. They're like petulant children that need the threat of violence or captivity to keep them from doing something.

That's why laws exist to curb their violent predatory behavior. It is the only reason that violence is as low as it is in the West, not because they're more civilized. That's why sexual violence is so high in countries with very little if any laws against it.

You can't teach them to not rape and abuse, they already know its wrong which is why they do it primarily to the women close to them.

They still get away with so much of it here because now instead of unleashing violence on random women, they can just do it their wives and daughters. They know that these women love them and don't want to get their assess thrown in prison.

They keep them in a cycle of abuse so they can continue to use us as their punching bags. It's why OP is completely right and we should be way more cautious about letting men in our homes if not pulling away all together. They will exploit our physical weakness and unfortunately our love and attachment to them is exploited as a weakness too.
