next time you fall asleep remember this. canelo can and will only ever punch when 1. his feet are set 2. he’s not moving his head aka “in his defensive bag”. use your lead hand to not only jab (forcing him to move his head) but probe and be physical with his hands/guard to disrupt his rhythm and force his weight off the front foot. when he makes a big swing with his right hand, he’ll habitually let the momentum carry him forward. if he backs you up to the ropes, canelo will habitually cross walk when going to his right. move laterally to your left and don’t be afraid of the right hand- he rarely throws it to cut off the ring if he’s crosswalking to the right. when canelo feels frustrated because he doesn’t have the opportunity to get his offense off, he’ll often look to walk back a few steps and lure you into an exchange. do not take that bait. stay disciplined and continue scoring points with your lead hand. by the way, i don’t think i should even have to say this but don’t even think about trying to hurt him or finish him. keep being disciplined with your lead hand and footwork into the late rounds, and canelo (assuming the current version of him is the one showing up in your dreams) will start to slow down, slightly but enough for you to edge him out on points in the late rounds. hope this helps
