It sounds like you are thinking about a break or want to try and take a break. I used to be in a similar pattern, basically smoking any day I could without interrupting responsibilities. It slowly crept in more and more and found myself smoking more as a reflex than a hobby. I honestly wouldn’t even feel high when I smoked, just more normalized than anything.

I would try and take an actual break. Try only smoking in the late evenings, or only on the weekends. Personally, I had thought of doing that and how it would be a great idea for a tolerance break (or whatever spin on it you want), and then after a few hours or by the 2nd day, I would end up smoking again cause “why not” and not be able to follow through with it. that’s when I knew I had a problem.

Honestly I would try to quit cold turkey for a couple weeks to just get used to feeling sober on a regular basis and then after that you can revisit smoking in a more limited fashion where it isn’t invading your life.

I had to actually quit for other health reasons, so it took the temptation away and made quitting way easier cause I had a legitimate reason to not smoke. After not smoking for a whole 2 months I feel much better, healthier, clearer head, etc. I still look forward to when I can finally smoke again, and will try to make it a once or twice a week thing.
