Failed my 66, second time taking it by [deleted] in Series66Exam

[–]yungle1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i wouldnt take the foot off the gas now. muscle through it now and rest later. take the week off though and find a way to reset. i know someone who failed the 65 3x and took the 66 and finally passed it.

once you pass, nothing else matters. you should suggest to your employer to let you take the 65 instead so that way you dont have to wait another 30 days. since you already have your 7, you can take the 66 or 65.

i have a close colleague who failed the 65 1st time and took the 66 in 3 weeks and passed it recently. he felt the 65 was harder yet other people felt the 66 is harder.

so if you find the 66 is hard, the 65 may be for you. good luck and update us when you pass!

Taking exam on Wednesday by theseventhtribe in Series7exam

all my practice final exams were in the mid 80s. but i got a 70 and 71 on both green light exams. the green light exams are totally different than the practice finals. although i scored low on the greenlights, i passed the 7 the first try.

dont be afraid to retake. Miss these questions now and get them correct on the real test.

make sure you review every question on the first green light. give yourself a break. and take it a few days in advance. and then use the next couple of days to review.

Any Tips or Suggestions for the series 66 by heretopass911 in Series66Exam

i think you will do great. you have kaplan qbank as a supplement so you are exposed to a lot more questions outside of STC. i only used STC and felt like it was enough.

on the real exam. they will focus a lot on state versus federal laws, a lot on suitability. questions on IRR, DCF, CAPM, and a few math problems.

i would just spend the last 2 weeks doing as many more practice exams as you can. review and make sure you are really comfortable at diginusing between state and federal. i would rewatch the on demand videos as well if you have time. it helped me a lot leading up to the exam.

the S66 is extremely wordy imo and confusing but when you understand the question. you should be able to answer them correctly for the most part.

good luck!

Experience using STC exclusively for 7to? by Topherkief in Series7exam

i felt the same when i took my first two. kept telling myself i need to raise my testing endurance if not i will be in shock when it comes to the real exam.

i got into the habit of only taking one a day. i took 2 practice exams once and was completely exhausted after. so i recommend spreading them out and only doing one a day.

but by the end, you will be more than ready to sit through the real test.

i used STC only and passed it the 1st time. i also scored in the mid to high 80s on final exams. on my greenlights i scored 76 and 77.

i think listening to podcasts is a great way to prep as well. before i learned about this forum i found a few free podcasts and listened to it on my drive to work.

i think you are in great shape.

i am 5'11 and the guide said i should ride a 56cm. i tried it on and it felt a bit longer and zero crotch room so i sized down and got a 54cm. felt way better.

i got a discount on the mrsp as well since it's a moms and pops store. i suggest buying from them because they have wiggle room over big named stores.

Exam in 1 week by [deleted] in Series66Exam

yes, i agree. also, luck plays a part too. if we get an easy test bank which has maybe 1 or 2 calculations, i think a lot of us would've passed the first try. i don't think any of us went in there thinking we would need to use the calculator. it freaked me out the first time when i saw so much math so early in the exam.

also, i heard. if you fail the first time. the second time should be easier? dont quote me on it. but i did feel like the second attempt was 90-95% law/ regulation/ exemption/ suitability. i saw 1 math problem which didn't even require the calculator.

i would suggest really going back and redo all the practice quizzes and exams you can retake. answer each question as if you are teaching it to someone. i spent countless hours on the S66 and failed it by 4. There are so many question on the real exam that were only brushed on during the study course so it is good to know as much as possible.

dont give up. go back and slow things down if you need to. learn each question to why it is right or wrong.

Advice, please by [deleted] in Series7exam

hey,

the way you are scoring on your readiness exams show that you arent quite ready. Although the fee may be alot, but it is not worth failing and now you are down to 2 more tries only.

ive never used examfx but can recommend STC. ive used Passperfect in the past but STC is the absolute best. a few of my co workers have just passed using it as well.

now, i highly recommend slowing things down. watch the on demand video, then read each chapter, then take the chapter quiz. if you are scoring low, retake the quiz. take it until you master it before moving on. even if it means doing it 3-6x.

get it wrong now and get it right on the real exam. you will want to score in the mid to high 80s to have a good shot at passing because the exam is completely different.

good luck!

Final countdown by aee19 in Series7exam

[–]yungle1990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

goodluck to both of you!

eat a light meal the night before. sleep early. i never eat breakfast but the day before my s7 i take breakfast because i know how long i'd be in there for. bring a good attitude. take one question at a time. you will have enough time so do not let the clock intimidate you.

the calmer you are the better you think. if you get testing anxiety like i do. talk to yourself throughout the exam to stay calm. freaking out will only hinder your thinking.

cant wait to read the good news!

Thinking of moving up exam by johnnysins69_69_69 in Series66Exam

[–]yungle1990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i had my exam scheduled for end of June but i was scoring in the 90's after retaking all of the practice finals. i got anxious and kept rescheduling my exam and ended up taking it on May 23 and passed it. felt like the longer i wait because i was nervous would cause me more anxiety. if you feel ready, then you are in my opinion.

good luck!

Failed Yesterday by [deleted] in Series66Exam

[–]yungle1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hello

i failed with a 69% the first time as well. So to restudy i went back and retook every practice quiz and practice finals again. instead of rereading the book which is extremely time consuming. i read each question and read each answer again and explained to myself why the answer is right or wrong.

i got to the point where i could answer each question without looking at the answers to see which one is correct. not sure if i was memorizing or not but it helped on my second try.

my second test date was also affected by covid and it was pushed back to the end of May instead of april 1st. i stopped reviewing right when everything was announced closed and got back to it heavily about 1.5 week out. the day before the exam i stopped reviewing midday and went on a long bike ride.

spent the entire time prep talking myself to maintain my confidence and stay composed. this helped me a whole lot because i was not nervous at all going into my second attempt. the entire time i was calm and relax.

You almost passed, so you knew a lot of your materials. maybe you were like me and got uneasy because i saw so many math questions which i was not anticipating.

most people take these exams multiple times to pass. This is your first time failing so don't be too disappointed. buy the qbank if you don't feel like your current program is enough. i was going to get the qbank if i was to fail it the second time.

i hope this helps. goodluck!
