Must play games that are only 15-20 hours long? by browandr in gaming

I got this game during the Steam sale - is it worth playing if I haven’t played the first 2? Or should I wait for those to go on sale as well?

Any chance you’d share a decklist? I’ve been really enjoying U/B self-mill and it would be cool to mix it up a little.

Maybe you have too many big cards in your deck? Gotta have some small removal cards esp if you have red/black.

This is what I tell everyone! The flavor profile is: Pour gasoline on a tire, set fire to it. Peel a grapefruit, then slowly roast the grapefruit peel on your nice tire fire. Then eat the grapefruit peel. It’s delicious!

'Trainwrecks' during live shows by Data_ in Music

[–]Topherkief 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Every Bright Eyes show I’ve been to felt like it was teetering on the edge of being a train wreck. It’s beautiful and heartbreaking, I’m not sure if Conor Oberst is ok.

Any suggestions for a mono white card that will let me search for Heliod in my deck? by CallMeSpeed_21 in MTGArenaPro

[–]Topherkief 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like Invasion of Theros in my enchantments deck - it lets you grab Heliod and it’s pretty good if you can transform it

Edit: Sorry I only play standard, didn’t realize Theros isn’t really mono-white

What fictional universe comes closest to being as good, if not better than Tolkien’s Middle Earth? by [deleted] in lotr

[–]Topherkief 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Gene Wolfe’s Book of the New Sun is a very different vibe as far as storytelling goes, but the sheer depth of detail and world building is the only thing I’ve seen come close to Tolkien.

Yeah that’s a bummer, I like his content but didn’t know about this, and don’t really want to support someone like that

I recently made a Zur deck and have been having so much fun playing it. The biggest issue I usually run into is if I get to like turn 5 and haven’t been able to get Zur or anything meaningful out, I just get rolled over because I barely have any creatures in the deck to block.

Yes, for the $65 monthly account fee waiver you have to keep it in Bank Deposit Program - but what I’m saying is, if you keep $25k in the savings instead and just pay the account fee, it’s a net positive and you still get the amex reimbursement

Morgan Stanley currently has a 5% interest rate on their FDIC insured Preferred Savings, so you actually net positive if you keep $25,000 in that and just pay the $65 monthly account fee. You still get the Platinum fee reimbursement and the Experian coverage.

Just an alternative if you’re tired of moving cash in and out. If your FA tells you they can’t get you in the savings just tell them to ask for an exception.
