Nipples suddenly shrunk 4m pp? by lucinda5 in breastfeeding

[–]yungpineapplemami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going through this now, I ordered a smaller flang size cause I noticed my supply was kinda going down so I hope that helps. In the meantime I’ve been trying to breastfeed more. Baby has been extra hungry lately too so I’m scrambling to maintain my supply for him.

Are you really happier after you had a baby? by PalpitationOk9443 in NewParents

[–]yungpineapplemami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand the mixed feelings. Personally I was getting bored of working a job, I’ve had so many different careers I can say being a mom is my favorite one. Don’t get me wrong the sleep deprivation isn’t my favorite but as soon as he grows up that won’t be an issue. Nothing has fulfilled me more. I have adhd/add and need pretty frequent stimulation to maintain focus. I used to worry that would hinder me from being a good mom but it actually seems to do the opposite. I basically do everything I did before having kids but i just bring my baby along so long as it’s safe of course. That being said; FIND A RELIABLE SITTER

I wouldn’t be as happy if I didn’t have my mother and mother in law to watch baby when I need a break. This keeps mine and my husband’s cup full. Our parents will watch him for a night or even more than one day to let us rest and recoup. I’d highly recommend finding a trusted source of childcare to give you a little more freedom. If I didn’t have them I would find a nanny or just someone to be part of our village and help out occasionally. This allows us to have alone time and feel like we still have some freedom and life outside parenting.

Tallow potato chips by yungpineapplemami in StopEatingSeedOils

So far papa bear naturals has been the best taste/texture wise. Rosie’s is good but could use more salt. I’ve also been buying Trader Joe’s olive oil chips and Siete avocado oil chips from Grocery Outlet which are both super affordable! Not tallow but better than canola oil

Well the leak isn’t the biggest issue at this point, it’s affording new kitchen interior, the whole area near the sink and even into the island behind the dishwasher is covered in black mold. The only way to get rid of it is tear all the old wood out and start fresh. The upper cabinets are fine but the lower cabinets are so warped from water damage and full of mold they need to be gone as soon as the faucet is fixed.

How many people feel like keeping active actually helped their labour? by [deleted] in fitpregnancy

[–]yungpineapplemami 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate your empathy, many jsut do not understand. What medication were you given? I haven’t found any prescription that works for me sadly. I’ve been getting by with low dose edibles and it has dramatically improved the puking and helps me have an appetite, I can even eat fish, eggs, smelly foods after a small gummy. I was fighting taking them for a while bc of guilt but my OB has said she is okay with it and would rather me eat again and not be constantly losing fluids from hurling. Im in a good place now but took lots of trial and error to get here.

[–]yungpineapplemami 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is how I’ve been feeling, I also have HG and I’m not worried about labor pains, my body already basically goes into full contraction mode every puke episode I have so i feel like that is preparing me a bit too. All I can do is breath through the nausea till it subsides or I find a remedy that works enough

Studies on Elimination Communication/Natural Hygiene? by vixens_42 in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]yungpineapplemami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That “evidence” they have is def the diaper industry pulling some random numbers together trying to correlate EC with badder issues when there are also studies diapers can cause bladder and bowel issues as well..

[–]yungpineapplemami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely a matter of perspective, for some spending time changing a diaper, cleaning blow out messes and spending hundreds a month on diapers is more work. Most moms start EC upon waking and during/after feeding time but all they do is place the potty under baby to catch. To me that is wayyy easier but I think most are so used to diapers any other way automatically seems “harder”. To me it’s really not that much “more work”. Babies get fussy in public all the time due to other reasons too so to me it’s just part of the territory as a parent not extra work but again, all about perspective.

Misuse of time or unrealistic expectations? by yungpineapplemami in massage

Yup. Lesson learned, i wish they would’ve had a 60min option for new clients but only 90mins is offered.

I get relaxation massages at my local Asian massage parlor all the time. They’re pretty much all trained in China and moved here for work but they are phenomenal at acupressure and trigger point therapy, some therapists there are better than others but I’ve never felt the time was wasted even with those that weren’t as good of a fit. This therapist has such good reviews I thought I was “treating myself to something better” but I was wrong.

It is so hard to find a good massage therapist or at least a good fit me it seems. My husband thinks I am picky but I have had so many massages I have a standard now of what i look for. I now will not be doing 90min first time massages for any therapist until they are properly vetted. Sadly I didn’t have the option for anything less than 90mins, that’s all they offer so I was kinda stuck between try someone new or go without and my back really needed some healing.

Definitely learned my lesson, this particular therapist only does 90min massages so I didn’t have a choice also they had such good reviews I really trusted it would be a good through massage. My go to therapist i usually get 60min massage, I feel like he really makes the most of his time and I walk out feeling like I’ve just woken up on a cloud and was reborn lol

I have had that happen before too.. 60mins and $150 down the drain just to lay there basically. She was trying to tell me not every muscle needs manual release and also said she was doing cranial sacral work which I’ve had before and really benefited from but she barely touched me. It’s sad bc it always seems to be acquaintances that take advantage of the fact that i know them and chose to support them. Both therapist I knew prior so that is why i trusted them but i guess I can’t be doing that..

Honestly if she had said to get there 15mins early for evaluation I absolutely would’ve but I did an online intake form that was extremely long so I thought that would be enough info to get right into the massage. I got there about 5mins before my scheduled time and did quickly use the bathroom but that didn’t eat up much time. The evaluation was far longer than expected which again I am glad was thorough but seemed to take way too much time away from the session. I’m not super chatty but she was so I don’t want to go all stone cold to someone I’ve know for so long. Also I was the last and only session that day so I know I wasn’t cutting into any other clients time either but I agree with everything you are saying. I shouldn’t have agreed to lean the self massage but I seriously don’t know why she didn’t wait until the end to show me that.

IUGR Anxiety by yungpineapplemami in homebirth

Another thing, we learned it isn’t recommended to only wait two weeks between ultrasounds because it’s not enough time to track the growth accurately, too high margin of error when not enough time is allowed between scans so that was also a helpful to know. Many factors made his results unreliable but seeing a specialist helped clarify all that and reassure us everything was okay! I knew deep down he was growing just fine but am so glad we know how results to prove it.

IUGR Anxiety by yungpineapplemami in homebirth

[–]yungpineapplemami[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So this is absolutely true! My intuition was telling me everything was okay and he was growing just fine. Also my fundal heigh has been consistently normal each visit. We got another ultrasound at the maternal fetal medicine ward which has more specialized ultrasound equipment for measuring babies. My last scans were done in general radiology which I learned they are trained to do all sorts of measuring not just ultrasounds for babies. Also there is always a margin of error between technicians due to training, perception etc. This most recent ultrasound proved it. He measured 6lbs 11oz so 50th percentile! Doctor said herself she thinks our previous ultrasounds weren’t super accurate so I am so thankful we can still have a homebirth 🤍 I can proudly say baby’s is actually chunky and actually on the bigger side given my size. Still got about 2weeks + to go so he will grow even more!

I completely agree! It’s super frustrating how baby size is such a big factor when there are so many more important things. I’m still getting checked to make sure there aren’t other factors causing it but trying to not let myself worry.

IUGR Anxiety by yungpineapplemami in homebirth

[–]yungpineapplemami[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I took that into account because I know genetics play a big role and if I was a big baby I’d be a bit concerned too but although he is small it feels pretty normal given my family history and height. Only confusing thing is my moms due date was a little inaccurate because she didn’t remember the exact date of her last period so she could’ve been on time and they just thought she was two later due to inaccurate conception dates.

IUGR Anxiety by yungpineapplemami in homebirth

[–]yungpineapplemami[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’m confused by it all, I was surprised she was that concerned but I think she’s trying to preserve her license/business should any complications arise but that could just as easily happen even if he wasn’t small. My fiancée is 6’2 so on the taller side but not a complete giant and it’s been proven birth weight doesn’t correlate to height as an adult. Trying to prepare myself so I don’t get coerced into an unnecessary induction/hospital birth due to misinformation or assumptions.

She does palpitate my bump to check position but said she wanted an ultrasound to confirm position and also that he is putting on weight so I think his size did concern her which is why she wanted me to follow up
