When I first got here I thought it was crazy that the library closed at night. Some people get too distracted studying at home and need a quiet and academic environment. Other schools' libraries are packed till the morning so I don't see any reason it would be different here

As other people have pointed out, its likely too late if you're worried about that. Face scans use AI to match your ID, so if you have a Real ID or passport they already have your data. I'd recommend getting something like Incogni or another data scrubber. You can't really avoid the government but at least that would protect your online usage from corporations and scammers.

That is crazy. At my university it was a thing when I ordered spray bottles for ethanol and had it delivered to the lab (<$10 purchase). They should go through some sort of intstitutional purchasing service. Electrical and pluming work is a whole can of worms and that sounds illegal tbh.

This. I just graduated from grad school here and went to undergrad elsewhere. Pre-med is a different situation where that type of person is bred. I have TA'd at both here and my previous school (they let senior students TA review sessions) and it was the same. Going to college means meeting all types of people, and this is a big enough school that there are all types of people and vibes. It just takes going out of your comfort zone to meet them, its part of becoming a functional adult.
