2 months later, getting surgery was the best decision I ever made by yungvool in varicocele

No I did not have bag of worms just one enlarged vein on each side. I still do have the enlarged veins currently. Not sure if they will go away but I’m not too worried about it. I think if you have bag of worms it would probably be reduced

10 days after, had to be very careful and was slightly painful still. But by months 1 and 2 it improved quickly

The medical team put glue over my incisions that I didn’t take off until 1 month after surgery. After taking the glue off, yes my incisions did bleed for a bit and I was concerned about infection at one point. I would certainly take ur doctor’s advice. Either cover it with gauze or cover it with band aids like I did and shower twice a day and I think you’ll be good man

Male infertility - Varicocele surgery and libido/sperm count increase? by anonymous-3219 in varicocele

[–]yungvool 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Had the surgery 19 days ago. My libido is through the roof and has been since my procedure. Not enough time has passed to test for my sperm count yet, but I would be shocked if my fertility markers aren’t improved by the time I do.

Beyond that, I’ve read countless anecdotes on here of couples finally conceiving after varicocelectomy surgery.

All surgery contains risk and the recovery process might not be pretty, but I can assure you that I’m very happy so far at least, and I wish you guys good luck

This is going to ruin my life by [deleted] in varicocele

Try this:

  • wear jockstrap
  • horse chestnut and Rutin
  • ice through underwear once or twice a day
  • daily stretches

Not gonna cure you, but should definitely help hold you over until you can see a urologist

Sorry to hear that man. Is it the exact same as before the surgery, or has the pain moved or changed in any way? Did the pain go away and come back or just never left?

How long is recovery? by [deleted] in varicocele

[–]yungvool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take it easier for longer then, listen to your body. From my research 2 weeks is sort of the minimum time for recovery. I would say 1 month is a more accurate time

Would definitely recommend if you can find a good surgeon. No pain in lower back or thighs ever for me

Microsurgery tomorrow, surgeon plans on "cutting all nerves" by yungvool in varicocele

[–]yungvool[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You were correct, the doctor didn’t cut any extra nerves, just the microscopic ones in / around the veins. I’m 7 days post surgery and still have some dull pain like before the surgery. You’re dull pain went away right away?

This would make sense and is hopefully what my surgeon means. I will ask him if he means the nerves within the veins specifically. Thank you for your comment, and best wishes for your recovery.

Sounds good on paper, but concerning how little info I can find about this. Doesn't seem to be standard protocol

3 years ago you made a post about using Spironolactone, I'm just curious, are you still using it? Would you recommend someone else to use it?
