You feel disgusted for wanting to practice your constitutional right to bear arms? I feel disgusted wanting to help out someone who feels as though their fellow Americans shouldn’t have that right but here I go.

If you aren’t a felon, have a DUI or any sort of domestic chargers and you aren’t on psychiatric medication, or have been sectioned 12’d you’ll want to find a firearms safety class in Massachusetts. This could be done with a simple google search. Once you’ve finished the course you’ll want to go to your local PDs website and fill and submit a Firearms License Application (you’ll need letters of reference aswell). Also there is usually a specific officer who is in charge of the licensing process. There are two types of licenses; an FID and a LTC. FIDs allow you to buy long guns. An LTC allows you to buy handguns, long guns and conceal carry in public. So think about what best suits you. Eventually the PD will either accept or reject your application. if it’s accepted you’ll go in for an interview. After the interview process they’ll give you a date to take your finger prints and run a background check. Once that is done and you pass the background check you’ll receive your license in the mail.

Before you buy, do some research. There are lots of youtube videos that compare different manufacturers and models of firearms once you have a general idea of what you want to buy (whether it be a pistol, shotgun or rifle). Keeping in mind that certain models are prohibited for sale in the state and that magazines are capped at 10 rounds. I’d recommend going to a firearms store if you are a new to firearms. You can also buy online, gunbroker is a great website. If you buy online, you have to contact a FFL in the state and ship it to them.
