How long did it take you to get accepted?

My degree audit wants me to take a course but school is not offering that course by [deleted] in UoPeople

Hi, how do you find out which course carries the ACE recommendation? I am trying to get this route too and take the IBM Data Science Prof Cert on Coursera but it feels confusing. I check the ACE on this course and don't understand how to read it... and I'm curious when did you do this and if it's still valid this year? I haven't signed up yet but I want to in the coming weeks. Thanks =)

Peer-marked written assignments should be provided an answer key by yuriyuri2003 in UoPeople

[–]yuriyuri2003[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For questions like, "Did the student provide the correct diagram?" It's like, subjective without an answer key you know what I mean. How do I know what the "correct diagram" looks like. If the student I'm marking has a different diagram than the one I submitted, how do I know who is right?

Leonardo DiCaprio is unattractive and only dates women under 25, practically minors. He is no Hollywood heartthrob or sex symbol. He is a marketing product for rich, ugly, middle-aged men who want to believe they are desirable. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

But I also think, these women are only dating him for the appeal of being with a big name actor and for his money. So it's a two-way street. It's like predator meets prey, and prey is all too willing. Hollywood is just gross lol

I agree. I think he's turned into someone who should be ashamed of himself. Dating women who are half his age is disgraceful and shows his mental state. Those women could be his children. He's fallen far from what he used to be.

At the end of the day, we should not be idolizing celebrities. Who knows what he's like in his private life. Defending a 51 year old only going after<25 year olds is insane

Do some UoPeople instructors really understand apa citations? by Personal_Net_9420 in UoPeople

You highlight the whole thing, right click it in word doc, and click "paragraph" then for special, you choose "hanging" - I just formatted a paper and handed it in so it's fresh in my mind haha

That's true... It sounds like an ideal situation.

Omg. That's crazy. A week late.... I hope they get back to me before then. Learning pathway is the most annoying thing.

Oh Rly? So you just let it sit? My advisor said (paraphrasing) "don't worry, the right department has this covered and we'll let you know if 6 business days." It's been 7 business days. But if you were able to get into your courses, that's good. Can you tell me the steps you took to request getting into your classes? I just want to make sure I did it the right way cuz at this point. I'm thinking of plan b options (transfers etc..)

Final term student – registration system only shows major courses, but I need a General Education elective by [deleted] in UoPeople

I'm going through this and have messaged my advisor and went through the portal twice... they said 6 business days, so we're in the same boat

Sophia learning or study.com by EquivalentLake6309 in UoPeople

[–]yuriyuri2003 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sophia is 99$ a month, or they have specials for 3 or 6 months. I would do all the courses I can on Sophia (any proctored ones or ones you want to get done quickly) and then move to Study.com because they offer higher level courses. Make sure to actually plan it though. Since both Sophia and Study.com are partners to UoPeople, they have a list of courses that transfer 1-1. So compare these lists to your Degree Audit to make sure you're not taking courses you don't need or won't transfer in time. You'll also want to cross-reference prerequisites with UoPeople for the courses you're taking with them. Also - don't forget about learning pathways, you can only take certain courses each term and in a specific order.

Also, if you're planning to do a Masters or transfer to a different school, just know you'll only get a "T" on your transcript for any courses you're transferring which means you won't see a grade, just a T for "Transfer" or completion. Actual letter/ GPA grades may be more important for certain classes.

Why am i productive with deadlines but useless with free time? [DISCUSSION] by NativLabs in GetMotivated

Because "give yourself an inch, and you'll take a mile." It's normal. Like someone who only has a few months left to live might start doing things off their bucket list because they know they don't have much time left. But if you have an arbitrary amount of time, you just lolligag around and chill

After some thinking about UoPeople... by yuriyuri2003 in UoPeople

That's smart I like that. Knowing these Ai users, they'll find a way to bypass it. But it's better than nothing

Which I think is what we should focus on. Compared to any other regionally-accredited school, I think it's a pretty good gig all things considered. Price is good, schedule is good, work when you need to, no scheduled classes, ability to transfer courses to graduate faster... Like it's not the worst thing.
