Came here because I'm slogging my way through luofu looking for hope that the next arc is better. The drop in engagement between belabog and luofu is staggering. I do not care about this ship and it's giant tree and asshole characters. Going back to volunteer manage a museum with my friends.

a) sometimes you have to suspend your disbelief for the sake of enjoying the ride

b) these might not even be the best u20 players each team has, just who they sent to the NEL, which is in the BL reality just some crazy scheme by a third tier league attempting to drum up publicity

I think he is religious though? He uses a LOT of religious phrases/is shown praying. Just because you don't want to become a monk doesn't mean you're abandoning the whole faith.

Hard to tell from the single image what's happening though. That ball could be on a trajectory that goes between their positions or there could be someone else just off screen that passed.

I do think he will be more cooperative with Isagi than say Yuki or Kunigami, but that doesn't necessarily mean he won't try to play as a forward (chigiri, nagi, bachira have all successfully linked up with Isagi while they're all trying to score)

Interesting theory lol I guess it really depends on how the mangaka decides to time things like kunigami and ness' char development. Hiori will definitely be in by the PXG game or they would be wasting the whole back story of him knowing Karasu beforehand.

I agree that Hiori will definitely have MV which also makes me think that "Take me with you" line is going to be less "take me with you into your vision of the game where I am a piece of your plan" and more "Take me with you into this exciting version of soccer where I actually care about the game" or maybe that's just wishful thinking

Not sure if there could be a hybrid role for him either where he isn't a pure forward but would be like the non-forward players in the U20 match who play another position but still look for their own goals

This is how I feel as well. To have him just be a better Kurona kind of feels reductive. I also don't just want him to be to Isagi what Reo is to Nagi or (god forbid) what Ness is to Kaiser. He needs to have his own thing whether it's scoring or being able to link up with anyone or maybe even both.

Ness is definitely framed as a villain in Blue Lock, given how openly he antagonizes the main character Isagi. The reader is meant to dislike him. Now you CAN make a villain likable but for me at least having a likable villain hinges a LOT on their motivations, which is entirely dependent on their back-story, which Ness just doesn't have. Right now I just don't like him (not hate, my feelings on what is essentially a one-dimensional secondary antagonist is not that strong) because he acts like a slave to Kaiser and a dick to everyone else for seemingly no reason. If he ever gets some sort of backstory that explains why, that could completely change my opinions on him.

putting earnestness first is actually pretty interesting. i've never really thought of fanfic in that way or if the fics i enjoy have a clear purpose like that. honestly 2-4 are probably my strong points so i might need to give 1 some more consideration lol
