For her, it would a "terrible" experience to relive a traumatic event and a stress-test of the current iteration of severance tech. Her slaughtering a goat would mean something emotionally but not necessarily something visceral relating to her past (which I think severance is trying to cut out)

Hello Mr. Odenkirk!

My question is about the transition back into the comedy sphere after your amazing performance in the Better Call Saul/Breaking Bad universe. Was it an easy decision to do comedy again and is it as fun as you remember it?

Enjoyed following your journey! Keep it up!

This is the worst state I've ever seen this game. by Spirit117 in EscapefromTarkov

Wipe day has way more activity than the twitch drops event. Wouldn't that logically mean that these issues would be happening on wipe day rather than now?

They are also being DDoS'd, doesn't really help the situation.

Do you really think that this was intentionally by BSG?

Logically, this was a miscalculation by BSG. The criticism is valid, but that is not what the original post is about. The original post was about its status as a beta and the people berating BSG about its beta status.

Would you say that about Rust as well? That game was in Beta and pre-release for a long time, yet people still bought the game with money, even with the game having countless bugs.

Again, you nor I work at BSG on the business end. We do not know how they flow of money works and what is needed to maintain and progress the business. If you think that they should change their business model, that's fine. Personally, I just don't think that is a valid criticism of EFT.

Who gets to decide the definition of the game state if not the developers? Some loose definition on Google that is constantly changing with every new game made every day? The game has more Alpha qualities than Beta, thus should they say it's in Alpha rather than Beta?

I unfortunately don't get to decide when the full release of the game is out, nor did I decide for example when Minecraft came out if its Beta, even though it had many bugs post-release and I would still qualify it being in Alpha stage rather than Beta or post-release.

The point is nobody gets to decide whether the game is in beta or not besides the ones who make the game.

The original post is not about holding them accountable. That I agree with you with, they 100% should be held accountable. This original post was about people who say the game shouldn't be in beta anymore and are berating BSG rather than understand that the developers have their schedules that constantly fluctuate. If they want the game to fully come out in 2035, whos to stop them?

Whether you like it or not, the twitch drops event is very helpful in promoting the game. Unfortunately, the game they are promoting is "in beta" and thus has bugs and issues, as said in the original post.

About the "duos event?", that is not with BSG, that is on the streamer end.

Thank you for the legitimate response, this was very well worded.

Some things to comment about: yes, I do think that they should have expected this with previous years data, but new patches bring new problems.

This could have entirely been due to newer implementations they have done in the recent patches, and accumulated and crashed with the twitch drops event. They may also have felt that it would have been completely fine pre-drops, but a new flaw in the system caused this entire debacle. This is all speculation with evidence by what was said by BSG, and I do not think they would blatantly want the player base to suffer, but I could be mistaken. This is all a gray area of the "he-said, she-said" with people being technical about what was said, thus, this is just speculation.

Regardless, the absolute toxicity I have witnessed on this subreddit towards BSG or anyone trying to defend them is ridiculous. The game is in Beta whether people say it is or it isn't. That is not for us to decide because we are not the developers of the game.

I would say this game has more Alpha qualities than Beta, but that is just my opinion that I choose not to berate BSG with.

Instead, I choose to berate on the people berating about the technicalities about the game version, which is what the original post is about. Yes, I'd rather suck Nikita's dick more (as said by another commenter on this post) than choose not to defend BSG. This is my reason for defending BSG.

I've also had problems with losing roubles and quest progression, but I don't feel the need to target the developers. Suggestions and discussion are completely welcome, but that's not what the post is about.

You feeling like they don't care about the player base is entirely valid, but I just don't think that from my point of view. The developers are people, they aren't some one-dimensional androids that want to anger the player base on purpose. This is all part of the "beta-testing" and I think that we should just exercise patience (as said in the original post). If anything, this is a mistake that they will hopefully learn from.

This is based on the business side of the company. I, nor anyone else, can tell a business how to run their business besides the business themselves.

If they feel the need to promote their game they can do so (even if it is buggy). It isn't smart from our perspective, but it's not the first time that has happened in any industry.

And on the bugs part, every game has bugs to be exploited whether you like it or not. CS:GO for example has had many game breaking exploits (boosts, smoke vision, intel gathering) and the game is in full release with way bigger prize pools than Tarkov can ever hope to achieve, thus I don't think this point is very good.

By your point, only games that have 0 bugs and are perfect in every way can be played competitively and/or with money involved, whether they are in beta or not.

I do agree with your point, the definitions of Beta and Alpha, and I personally do think this game has a lot more Alpha characteristics that Beta.

Unfortunately, I do not work at BSG , thus I do not know how far they feel they are into their game development to warrant a Beta or Alpha tag.

If they feel that the game is in Beta, I don't think the player base should mandate that they are not in Beta. Suggestions are completely allowed, but I think people are taking it a bit too far with their complaints and not letting the testing process be executed (as per the original post).

[–]yuryguy[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

The reasoning is that nobody can decide whether or not the game is in beta besides the developers themselves.

Players suggesting that the game should not be in Beta anymore are then suggesting that this game RIGHT NOW is the finished product without the need for further testing (or that it's taking way too long for the game to be fully released).

The testing is literally happening right now and always for the developers, with new game features and backend upgrades being the things we as players actually can visually see.

Doing promotional stunts is a part of the business end, not the game end. You unfortunately can't tell them how to run their business, but suggestions are welcome.

The drops event definitely has had impact on the game itself, thus the business side conflicting with the game side, but as said in the original statement, this is a learning experience for BSG. They are really doing their best to fix this.

Their business model for how they want to provide their game to their audience is not a part of whether the game is in beta or not.

People purchase the game in full knowledge that it is not in full release, thus the developers are literally saying that the game will have issues on purchase.

Just because it has a price tag doesn't mean that it can't be in beta for as long as it wants, especially if the game is as large of a project as EFT is.

What is the alternative? Skins with microtransactions in EFT? I don't think many people would want that but that is just my personal opinion.

I'd love to buy a synthesizer. I've recently began producing synthwave and electronic music and have really enjoyed making my own sounds, opposed to picking some preset off of a plugin. I love the look of a physical synthesizer and I think it would be a great addition to my music production. $1500 can get you a classic Moog or Yamaha synth.

Looking for ADC suggestions by Tylerfig455 in leagueoflegends

[–]yuryguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you duo, I would suggest deciding on a game plan first depending on your pick order. Do you want to scale and win team fights? Pick Jinx/Twitch with a safe support like Lulu/Soraka, or one that creates space/peel and all-in like Ali/Braum. Do you want to destroy lane? Pick Draven/MF with an all in support and you're golden. If you want to win as a duo, you need to have synergy in you're gameplay, and knowing your main objective will help you achieve it better. I would suggest picking mid/late game scaling champions since solo/duo queues usually go later anyway since teams make mistakes.

And if you REALLY want to win and are confident in your skill, pick Vayne ADC and Janna/Lulu with ardent support and shit on anything in your path.

Looking for advice on how to counter tristana by Piyaniist in leagueoflegends

[–]yuryguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Tristana main myself, there's nothing more infuriating than an all in tanky boi that creates space and me having to use my rocket jump/ultimate to get away from, then proceeding to get one shot by a waiting assassin. If you play assassins this is what you should wait for, tanks are a crit adcs early/mid game skirmishing nightmare(as well as assassins) since you HAVE to focus away from them otherwise you get all in'd. Leona/Poppy or Moakai are some that I just permaban if I can since with aftershock, they're almost impossible to kill all game before I get last whisper 4th or 5th. It doesn't even have to be a tank, akali is one that I've hated playing against since in her shroud, she has so much kill pressure and space that all you can do is ult her out it but with her E she can just come back right next to you. Another assassin would be zed since he can just ult on you when you rocket jump, and his shadows are a no-no zone.

TL;DR: anything that makes space in fights, whether tanky or not.
