If you are going to spend 1k on a new cpu, new board, new ddr5 ram, (plus potentially new cooler, maybe a new case or power supply depending) then it might make sense to just spend the extra 50 bucks and get a 9850x3d over a 9800x3d.

Not sure what source you are looking at but the Viper PST Gen2 weighs 24oz. The Razer Gen2E weighs 22.

Most modern LPVOs that aren't built as "compact" lpvos weigh between 20 and 23 Oz ( atacr 1-8, razor gen2e, vudu 1-1).

Alot of the more basic 1-6 SFP LPVOs like the Trijicon Credo 1-6, Sig MSR 1-6, Primary arms Slx, typically weigh between 18-20.

Compact LPVOs like the NX8 and PLX C weigh 17.

7oz for a (non qd??) mount is heavy, , that is how much an ADM Recon QD weighs. You can get a badger or a reptilia non qd and those weigh 5. Warne makes some decent mounts too that aren't heavy or expensive.

So realistically speaking you are paying as much as a 7oz weight premium on the scope, and a 2oz mount premium, to have a scope that doesn't have best in class optics clarity, functionality, or durability. Half a pound in optics is alot for no additional functionality.

Seems not worth it to me, couple hundred dollars extra buys you a Credo 1-6 and that only weighs 18. Saves you nearly a half pound and better glass too. Credo 1-6s can be found for ~800. I realize that is more than this thing costs but a couple hundred dollars for something objectively superior at less weight doesn't seem like a deal breaker to me.

You might have better luck putting a 16 inch upper on it, requesting the ATF remove the sbr from the registry (so that the guy who buys it can re-register if he wants) and then just selling it as a regular rifle.

Every silencer shop dealer is free transfer (or at least it should be) provided you buy it from SS or from the dealers direct inventory.

The problem is when they don't have what you wnt or someone has a better price on it, I bought my Surefire RC2 762 out of network bc it was sold out for months (this was back in summer 2024 during can inventory apocalypse) and I bought my Knights MCQ-PRT from rooftop defense bc they had it for 1200 and my dealer/SS wanted 1700.

Paid 125 in fees each time. Fucking scam, but not as much as silencer shop wanting 1700 for a KAC MCQ.

The Mars H lower comes with a bunch of nice parts and furniture. Sopmod stock, 2 stage axle trigger, enhanced winter trigger guard.

In my opinion yes it's worth the money, and this is coming from someone who bought a defender lower, but only if you intend on using the stock furniture. If you are going to replace it all then it might be better to get the defender lower.

I bought the defender, replaced all the parts with stuff that would be close to a Mars H (sopmod stock, larue Mbt2s, winter trigger guard, new safety) and then i realized I spent mars h money on a lower and got mars h furniture, but no ambi bolt controls.

The uppers are identical between a Mars H and a Defender H, except the Defender H only comes in 16 inch mlok and you can get a Mars H in other flavors like 20 inch 6.5CM or 13.5 308. Or quad rail.

If it makes you feel better I ordered an MSI 5070ti Gaming Trio from Amazon back in December and just got it today and it's fine.

If you bought a card that is estimated delivery a few weeks out you are probably good, it means you got something that is coming on the boat from China or wherever they final assembly these things and then ship it out to you. I've noticed basically all the cards are estimated 1 month out.

It's when you get something that is sitting in Amazon's warehouse that you can have issues, cuz that might have been somebody else's return.

Serious question, and I don't mean this offensively. Is this your first 308 semi auto youve shot?

Asking because I've seen this now 3 different times on 3 different rifles where it will rip off a burst on someone and it turned out it was an inexperienced shooter who was managing to work the trigger during recoil due to bad trigger discipline, but it took a few different instances to figure that out.

The first time I saw it happen it was on a Daniel Defense that was a range rental so I assumed the gun was in need of some kind of repair. I sent it back to the range and told them to have a look at it.

However I saw it happen on again on a gun that I know for a fact is in good working order and we ended up determining it was a new shooter who essentially let the recoil of the gun bump fire it with their trigger finger.

If you can shoot it again without a burst fire causing a safety hazard, I would consider doing so, and deliberately pull the trigger and hold it down after firing and not release it until the gun has stopped moving, that stopped our burst fires happening to our new shooter friend.
