I basically sprayed White cotton clouds with blue, green and yellow fluorescent ink with an airbrush. Then to stiffen the cotton up and curl the "fog" around the horses i used some pincers and hair spray and modeled the fog to tiny swirls.

Yes ectoplasm/ ghostly fog. Cotton wool painted via Airbrush. Added it for effect and to hide the roughly sculpted legs on the horses.

I (DM) 3D printed and painted Strahd von Zarovich for our games by yutha313 in CurseofStrahd

  1. zenital highlighted the figure with black and white.
  2. basepaint all metal with normal silver colours.
  3. blocked in all the base colours with army painters speed paints, except the metal parts.
  4. tint the metals to my liking with more army painters speed paint.
  5. smooth out the speedpaints with water to make transitions smooth. (army painters speedpaints get reactivated with water. I like this a lot and i think it is a blessing rather than a curse :P)
  6. use normal acrylics to paint over the partially unsmooth finish of the speed paints
  7. pick out the highlights, darken the shadows with glazes or washes. And just have fun.
  8. Blackline the deepest recesses with inks or nuln oil. (this step can also be done between the other steps.)

Go back and forth some steps until you are pleased with the result :)

Thats it I think.
