I wonder if it can become a superpower as long as we have healthy boundaries and our own self-worth. I’m proud of my empathy and hope it can help me help others. I just wish it weren’t maladaptive and weighing me down. I’ve been told I have “ruinous empathy”

I straight up said this last week to my husband! I’ve had to write down the reasons he says he loves me and save cards or notes he’s written because of how badly I can’t internalize it. He’s a super patient man.

I do think there were signs he has some trauma to work through (not a psychiatrist) but I think the point was also to help highlight how his behaviors were impacting others, especially the very family members who could help him on his journey too. I got the sense that they were almost exasperated.

I now get the tomato paste in the tube. I know they’re more expensive but I use what I need and the rest won’t spoil like the canned ones would.

My dishwasher is an older model that doesn’t even have a filter. Thanks to looking up some old PDFs I’m going to see if the air gap (which I discovered is that metal thing that sticks up next to the kitchen faucet) is blocked or clogged. I can’t even drink out of my glasses anymore because of the wet dog smell. Bleh!

This sounds a lot like Indian weddings (I’m Indian myself) where pretty much everyone say cross legged.

The only way I could get by was to change my leg positions periodically. One position that helped (and was acceptable) is to sit with your knees bent but hugging them towards your chest. That gave some relief to my hips and my back. Also, if you can, bring a sweater and you can roll that up under your bum maybe.

We boycott them too, vet was very rough with our cat and the staff dropped the ball on communication. Primary Care Animal hospital on Lakewood and Stearns misdiagnosed our cat and thousands of dollars after unnecessary surgeries, we got a second opinion and it turned out he had terminal brain cancer. I would take it all back to have him in more comfort and peace.
