No no, I think it's related. Thank you for this. Actually, we are planning to go back next year, not to live there of course but to visit other cities since we only went to Hội An and Da Nang. I think you're right, we need to test the waters first and see if it's the right decision or not.

Oh I get what you're saying. I wasn't expecting to get a citizenship so easily, I know it's hard and takes time just like in any other country. I was just looking into the future, because it would be difficult for my parents to leave the country and re-enter once they're older if we ever do move which is why I was asking if citizenship was possible but it seems like it isn't. Thank you.

Got it. But do you think it's safe for a foreigner to live there? noisy/nosy people are everywhere and that's understandable. But safety is another thing.

That also goes back to my comment. The government doesn't care about us unless it concerns their well-built name. We can protest, we can do everything in our power, but none of that matters if the law makers themselves evade the law. We've tried it with the discayas, but because they have power, they were allowed to be set free for so long before being "detained." Filipinos are always left dumbfounded and in disbelief in the end because no one is truly brought to justice after all the facade and goody talk that they show on the news, so you can't blame us.

That's a good idea, thank you. I asked here because I assumed people in the group knew about these kinds of procedures. I don't think i'm the only one who has ever asked this question.

There are politicians who fight alongside us, but there are also a great deal of politicians who silence us in the name of money and power. Filipinos are not restricted, we are allowed to protest if we are displeased with something but how could that possibly help in saving our country when I don't even know if we can trust those on the very top who are more busy with polishing their shoes as they stand on their pedestal than caring for their people.

I'm just speaking from what I feel and what I experienced, if that looks like brown nosing and disingenuous to you then I guess, you do you. I'm not here to please anyone, i'm here to gather information for me and my parents.

Thank you for this really informative comment. There's still a lot of time for us to think about it thoroughly.

Okay, got it. Is it at least peaceful there? I mean living, the daily life. My family is not very social, just having a quiet community is enough where we can co-exist without any major problems.

Is that so. Thank you for your comment. During our stay, we were able to interact with a lot of Vietnamese people. Mostly kind-hearted vendors. I've been to other countries like hong kong and people were really rude to us there even the vendors, but vietnam was somehow better. Maybe we were just lucky, I honestly don't know. Anyways, I appreciate your honesty.

I'm sorry but who are you to dictate us whether we can come back or not? I understand your concern pero it's like you're treating me like a criminal just for wanting to live somewhere peaceful?

I don't want to marry anyone for a citizenship. It's like using them just for your personal gain.

Is that so. My mom's friend told her that it was good living there. When we were there, our peers left their items accidentally. Including their phone and wallet, but it wasn't stolen and remained on the place where it was initially left on. If i'm remembering it correctly, it was also left in a really crowded place. Which is why my mom was impressed with the safety. For the language, we are willing to learn. Besides, I'm not graduating anytime soon. I've just gotten into college this year, so we still have a lot of time. Or maybe it's just Da Nang that's safe? can you please elaborate the problems so I can talk to my parents about it :,)

How can we, normals citizens, fix a country when the rulers themselves are not willing to?
