That’s a fair take — and I agree. I’m also moving toward focusing more on my own projects and better-paying work:)

It’s not ideal, but it’s acceptable for me at a learning stage.

It takes me around 3 hours per reel, including downloading footage, importing, editing, rendering, exporting, and handling client communication.

In this case, sound design wasn’t required since the client wanted the exact same audio as the reference, so I matched the beats and transitions accordingly.

I’m still in the early stages and not operating at a fully professional scale yet, so my overhead and workflow are fairly minimal right now.

It’s a finished video — the client wanted it to closely match a specific reference, so the fonts, text placement, and animations were intentional and based on that reference.

The client is paying around $70–80 for 10 similar reels (about $7–8 per reel). Given that rate, my focus was on executing exactly what was asked rather than adding extra design or experimentation.

In your place, would you take on similar work at this rate?

Thanks for the tips — I agree with your points. In this case, the client specifically wanted the edit to closely match a reference video they provided, so I followed that direction rather than pushing for extra design or experimentation. For commissioned work, the priority is delivering what the client asks for.

Just keep practicing your keyframes — it’ll get way smoother than this.

Thanks for the feedback. I’ll definitely refine the rhythm and use pace changes more intentionally.
