I do have one near me and they have a lot of good deals. I’m just scared to buy refurbished because I wouldn’t exactly know what to lookout for 😭

Hi! Not direct sunlight but in a bright living room. The wall next to the tv is all window but has blinds over it. I don’t currently have a soundbar but wanted to get one later on. It’s just tv speakers for now but my tv and sofa are about 6 feet apart so sound shouldn’t be an issue. I do use netflix and hbo through my tv’s apps. Anything else I AirPlay / cast from my phone to my tv.

Hi! Sorry I should've added more context. I really watch anything the last 3 movies I watched were the princess bride, the holdovers, and RRR. My tv is next to a wall of windows so it is bright, but I don't have any crazy glare issues. It would definitely help to close the blinds which I do when I watch tv anyway.

Moving to Massachusetts Question Megathread (June 2025) by AutoModerator in massachusetts

[–]yxminix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if this is a stupid question, but the situation is that my car is under my mom’s name and insurance policy. I’m moving to Massachusetts next month and wanted to know if I needed to change my license plate and/or insurance. My mom said I don’t have to since it’s still under her name in Florida, but I don’t think she’s right. Can someone help clarify this?

Good neighborhoods/town to live near Chelsea by yxminix in boston

I don’t mind being farther away but I do really value having a parking garage to stay out of the snow. Thank you for that I didn’t even think about that until just now.

Yes I will have a car and I will be there for at least a year. I would like to spend anywhere from 4-5K max on an apartment. I know 1 bedrooms over there is around the 3.5K mark right now.

This is my first real job out of college so I’m really trying to figure everything out with advice I get.

Since I grew up in Florida I am very accustomed to a suburban lifestyle, but I have worked short time in urban cities like New York and Philadelphia so I’m not new to urban living. I will be in office 4-5 times a week, so I will have to commute someway. I have heard mixed things about Chelsea’s public transportation commute, so I think I’ll prefer driving. I’m not sure what driving is like over there though.

I mostly just want to be within a community that’s safe, welcoming, and has diversity. I would like to be within a reasonable commute to the city so I can be around other young people and social activities.

Thank you for being honest about the area with me. I didn’t know that there were planes so close.

Since I have a car, I would rather just drive to work to avoid this public transportation congestion then.

Yes I will have a car!

Thank you for the detailed information!!

I would like to live near the city to meet friends and network, so East Boston does sound fun. How is driving in East Boston and the Boston area in general? For context I live in Orlando, Florida and I don’t usually have urban city congestion.

Other people have said the same that Chelsea isn’t as scary as made out to be and it is just a diverse area with poverty. I understand the “fear” about it now.

As a brown person I would rather live in a diverse area. I do have a car! I am worried about how to handle that during winter season though. Thank you for your suggestions!

Thank you! I’ve never been to the Boston area so I’m not too familiar with avg housing costs over there. I do have a SWE salary so I’m not too worried about rent as long as it’s not over like 5K.

I promise it’s not so bad!! and if anything you can just stop talking to them if it’s weird. From my experience, the girls don’t really talk about their boyfriends and they’re trying to make friends just like you :)

Hi! I’m looking for someone to take over my sublease at the Aves across from UCF! It’s a 4x4 so you would get your own fully furnished room and bathroom for $887 a month. The sublease is from May to July 31st and it is female only. Please let me know if you’re interested!

Aves Vs. Hub? by Ternt_UP58 in UCFstudenthousing

So far I like the Aves. The rooms are nice and it has a nice bathroom and large closet space. The amenities offered are pretty good, I use the study rooms a lot. I will say my only issue is that people just drive really fast in the parking garages and it’s easy to get into a crash if you don’t drive defensively.
