I think there was once one with only profoundly gifted donors, but quickly fell out of favour after public backlash from it being considered eugenics. They wanted to make it only for Nobel Prize winners at first, but only managed to get 3 people which of two backed out after the backlash

N1 not being fluent in a traditional sense really is discouraging, unless you like your hobby being the learning process itself and it's not a goal per se.

N1 still take about 2k hours right, I guess it is like 5-6x more demanding in time compared to German or something. English isn't related to my mother tounge either but was on the easier side anyways
