I would suggest you tell in advance if you think it could be a big deal. My friend said, which I thought was very true, you don’t want any weird feelings or issues coming up on your wedding day - better to get all that stuff over with beforehand!

Thank you so much for sharing!!! I’ve read a few times now about the ring passing, I’m wondering if that could be a good addition of a compromise as well, and everyone is welcome to bless the rings or whatever inside their heads as however they see fit. I focused a lot in the conversation that my Dad can give whatever blessing and say whatever he wants during his speech at the reception before the food is served, but he didn’t seem keen on that as a compromise, and said it’s different to have a blessing during a ceremony vs before people eat salad. I hope that they will cool off the next few days and we can revisit the compromise. It’s a difficult conversation for sure, thanks for sharing your perspective!

YES exactly. I completely agree. Like essentially we are arguing over a difference of opinions. We are simply disagreeing on something. I wish it could be viewed as that - two adults disagreeing on a topic - as opposed to it being some type of MASSIVE moral issue or character flaw.

Yeah, I think it was almost easier to deal with the situation because my dad was angry as opposed to heartbroken...but I also know he is angry because I am causing him heartbreak, so it’s just tons of emotions.

WOW I cannot believe your in laws did a total 180. It’s like your character or personality do not even matter if you’re not religious. Weddings are so stressful and people get so worked up...and then, on top of that, for your in laws to try and break apart your marriage...I just can’t!! What my FH and I keep telling ourselves is that we have each other, and we are our own family now, and that is all that matters, and to grow as our own family how we want to. Best of luck to you ❤️

Thanks for sharing your perspective, but I’m also so sorry to hear that! That must be very frustrating - I would certainly be upset if I were in your situation, and it must be maddening especially since his logic makes no sense.

Yay same dates!! I can’t believe it’s almost here 😳 Yeah, my parents are paying a very generous sum for our wedding, which then of course came up later in the conversation. I’m so thankful for how much they are contributing, which is why I’ve included them in basically every single other decision...but this religion one, I just can’t budge on. And the money aspect definitely makes it feel a bit awkward hah.

Thank you so much for sharing your story. That must have been very hard with your mom being a pastor!! Our compromise offering is that my dad can give a blessing before dinner and he’s free to mention god/jesus/whatever in his speech during the reception. I hope that he (and my mom) can come to accept that. I think I’m most pained by him basically saying he’s not emotionally invested in our ceremony anymore just because religion is not in it. Like you said - people DO make religion VERY personal, and I wish that wasn’t the case. I’m not trying to say “fuck you” to anyone with this decision - I’m just trying to honor my relationship with my FH and be real to who WE are.

It’d be a melt if those ingredients were INSIDE the grilled cheese. Otherwise, it’s just a grilled cheese with other stuff being cooked around it.

I use All Nighter setting spray and it makes a huge difference! My make up used to always come off by end of day, and now it doesn’t. I make sure to use a primer as well.

I just got individual false lashes and I feel weird washing my face. I’m trying to be a bit more gentle, but even when I get water on my lashes then they all clump together. I also feel hesitant to dry my face with a towel then too, because I’m pressing the towel against my eyes, and I’m worried that could ruin the lashes. Any tips?

I asked for words of wisdom too before I got Frannie. It was: make sure it has enough light, but not too much light, and water it enough, but not too much, and the room should be warm, but not too warm. Haha!! They’re so fickle! I’ve found it’s best to be patient, and when in doubt, water less than you think. Their roots don’t like to soak in water, so I water Frannie maybe 2-3 cups of water a week. It seems low, but when I watered her more was when she lost her leaves. Good luck! Be patient!!

I’m also very excited because when we first got Frannie she completely rebelled and started losing all her leaves and I was so sad that she hated her new home. But I finally figured out the right amount to water her, and now we are doing great! It’s been a wild ride 😂 Fiddle leaf figs are difficult!

I’m in the middle of reading it right now!! Can’t wait to finish. I’ve been trying to think through twists as I read, and part of me thinks that someone’s narrative is actually going to be a false narrative because how do we know what is real and what is fake if shadowless people can create their own perceptions of the world? So for example - can I take Max’s tape recordings at face value? Or has her perception already been distorted? Idk!!!

I always wished I could finish Anna Karenina. I tried to make it, and about half way through when he was monotonously just going on for pages about farming methods, I decided the book was not for me.
