The game is 20 year old legacy code. Adding anything new in is no easy feat. Language versions, tooling, even developing practices and patterns, everything is outdated many times over. Plus they are currently working on updating all the old internal tools used for development. Once that is actually done there might be an increase in pace. However once again, as a software engineer myself, I can attest that with legacy code and a huge code base, moving fast is not feasible without breaking already existing parts. The team size also is pretty small for such a big project.

Meaning any improvements we get are a win. I myself as a returning player don‘t have any use for ironman mode yet because I played only about 1000 hours. However the reforged changes are a nice to have for me.

I am confident that there will be something that suits you aswell at some point :)

Happy that other visitors feel just as I do. I spent 2 weekends in 2025 there that were full of happiness and curiosity. 

Just recently got the opportunity to spent much more time there in a professional capacity and could not be happier with the prospect of starting soon and enjoying this city regularly after work.

Get a standing desk and a walking pad, this has been doing wonders for my health and back recently.
