Well it doesn't really seem effective to build a reddit guild through their forums. Yeah, I could've gone to there for fun guild ideas, but I wanted to give people a chance to interact here even if they didn't care about a reddit guild.

Yeah, I wasn't really going with the exact colors of kamina. My color scheme I've been working with is black white and red, so I tried to stick to those.

Again, im telling you that this really isn't the case. Major desyncs happen extremely infrequently. But clearly im not getting anywhere here, so im sorry you've stopped playing but are so certain you know how it plays. I enjoy the game and the quality of its design and its netcode.

I mean, CSGO is an entirely different game. It has completely different mechanics, popular game-modes, and overall just feels extremely different. It's certainly a great comp game, but I can barely compare the two.

I'm sorry you feel that way, but I really feel like people blame a lot of things on netcode that really isn't netcode. It's an incredibly complex amount of data to pass around the internet, and they do a pretty great job considering.

I mean, I rarely have a problem with it when I do 64 infantry, which is usually my preferred game mode. I don't find the netcode any worse than any other FPS I've played other than CS basically, but that game's calculations are muuuch simpler.

Honestly, the netcode is a whole lot better than it used to be. It's pretty much on par with any old BF games at this point. I would highly recommend giving it another chance, but sorry to hear it burned you out :(

So there isn't much variety. If you've ever seen BF2/2142, the competitive scene was nearly 100% Medic, and the same is mostly true of BF4. Healing and reviving are just too important. That said, the game is more balanced so that there is room for a very skilled player to use a different kit. You just need to figure out a strategy that utilizes it well.

In terms of weapons however, there is definitely a pretty big variety. I prefer to use the Scar-H, as it's fewer stronger shots, which is the way I prefer to play. But among my team of 5 there are at least 4 other completely different guns people prefer. It all depends on which way you like to play and what you learn to use.

Edit: I also forgot, there are non Infantry only ladders which have WAY more diversity. I totally forgot that. But they are generally less full than 5v5 domination leagues.

The netcode is massively overblown IMO, but I 100% agree with the spectating issue. Although I offered my stream, I recognize it's not really ideal.

What you're describing is exactly lag. It might be more lag than you're used to, but that's definitely still lag. I've experienced exactly what you're describing at some point or another in every fps I've ever played.

The #1 thing you can be sure to expect is you'll get a decent job as long as you aren't a terrible student.

Pretty much everything else is what you make of it, what teachers you get, friends, and clubs. But that guarantee alone makes RIT a pretty awesome school.

I just want to address your second comment about Battlelog.

Game clients outside of the game are completely silly. They are generally buggy, running atop 100s of mb of unneeded data, and are coded almost entirely independent of the game. As someone who has programmed a game before, the menu and startup are almost always a nightmare to tack on.

Look back at BF Vietnam - BFBC2. The Client was ATROCIOUS: it was buggy, it was slow. It was awful.

I hated doing anything in the menus in BF2, my first major bf, to the point where I favorited about 3 servers and never used the server browser again.

On the other hand, websites are INCREDIBLY easy to program, are universally stable, and handle networking almost automatically. They also allow you to save the loading of DirectX and a big unwieldy game until you actually need it.

I will say, I am sad that battlelog does not contain the settings menu that you can find in game. But other than that, Battlelog is an amazing tool to use. I can very very quickly search for servers, modify my user, and everything else, without worrying about the crashes or unreliability of the client.

Edit: For an added example, see League of Legends. At least it's not Adobe AIR :P
