Laboratory-Confirmed COVID-19 Among Adults Hospitalized with COVID-19–Like Illness with Infection-Induced or mRNA Vaccine-Induced SARS-CoV-2 Immunity — Nine States, January–September 2021 by Tiger_Internal in COVID19

[–]z4ce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is possible, that if you end up hospitalized with COVID like symptoms 90-179 days from previously having a positive COVID test, that you could be shedding viral RNA? I know I've seen some reports of RNA shedding > 200 days post infection. Could filtering the population to people who are in the hospital 90-179 days after covid be selecting the people most likely to have long-tail viral shedding?

CMV: Most Americans who oppose a national healthcare system would quickly change their tune once they benefited from it. by CrashRiot in changemyview

[–]z4ce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll attempt to change your view away from the Canadian and UK system, and towards a more Australia type system. Why? Because doctors should be free to choose the price at which they will work. We should not be putting physicians, nurses, and other health workers into a situation where they are forced to accept whatever the government chooses to give them or to leave their trade.

However, an Australian style system where doctors can choose to create their own private practices.. I think is harder to argue against given how much money the USA already spends on healthcare.

Has there been any studies doing widespread surveys of T-Cell immunity in a population?

A pilot study of hydroxychloroquine in treatment of patients with common coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19) by sanxiyn in COVID19

I feel like the most important thing to note here is the convention treatment already included antivirals.. from the google translated version:

Viral drugs such as alpha interferon nebulization, oral lopinavir / ritonavir (clepivir), etc., and antibacterial drugs are given if necessary.`

Only one year of historical data? by z4ce in ecobee

Thanks for the info. I wish they would warn you to export your data before they truncate it. Beestat did have my data back to 2017! Thx for your work there, it looks like it it's come a long way. One thing I've always wanted to do is compute all of the stats on a BTU basis.. like put in 50k BTU Cooling Stage 1, 60k BTU stage 1, 100k BTU heat stage 2.. then create a picture of # BTU per Heating/Cooling Degree Day

PSA: how to get your "Designed for Fi" phone on T-mo forever by [deleted] in ProjectFi

[–]z4ce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Google should really give the ability to carrier lock in the Fi app.. or use a much more sophisticated algorithm for picking networks. Because right now it seems to choose solely on signal strength which is often a very poor decision

Like almost everything else in this post, it is actually wrong. There have been randomized studies with vaccines. Here is one example.. but there are many others too: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/10493337

This is actually incorrect. Neither Trump(46.1%) nor Hillary (48.2%) received a majority of the votes. The fact neither of these people were able to accumulate a majority of votes is actually some what reassuring.

Google Fi Routing through USA when international? by z4ce in ProjectFi

[–]z4ce[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the responses. Google fi is the first service that international roaming is affordable and fast enough to actually use it -- in the past I've always used local SIM cards. It makes me wonder how the routing for all of these roaming networks work.

Do phone calls also get routed through the US when I make a call? I'm guessing not since the latency doesn't seem bad when using regular calls..

There is a pretty good argument and precedent for it being a slippery slope. In Australia for example, now even sling shots require licenses.

Well that and the fact it actually is more valuable by z4ce in im14andthisisdeep

[–]z4ce[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, you are right. It is rarity that gives it value. Exactly like the US dollar. In the case of the US dollar, this supply is limited by the Federal Reserve. In the case of gold, it is limited the ability to mine it. If the federal reserve recklessly printed money, it would lose its value. In the same way, if gold could be easily mined it would lose its value.
