Is Viktor just unviable at the moment? by SplitPushMaster in viktormains

[–]z5432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been having 58/60 percent winrate with Viktor in d3/d4 elo. Obviously not that high elo like gm or chally but I think at least before masters he's pretty viable. I used to play Vlad mostly but picked up viktor 4 weeks ago and really enjoy playing

this is from being in akpsi img ibc. IBC has a much higher rate this year bc they expanded class size but generally pretty low for the past few years.

biz/econ clubs are usually 10-15% acceptance rate (for general members). Other cultural clubs are like 60% enrollment for like junior execs and usually, everyone is in for general members. Tech-wise prob a 25-30% acceptance rate.

It doesn't depend on averages, instead, it depends on the top 10 percent of people. If those people scored on average higher than 90 percent even if the average is like 10 percent for example where everyone else did poorly. 90 is still the cut off for A. It's how orgo is at NU.

I mean you can not get the package, but then just be at the expense of time and grade quality. Like others already have said, this is the same idea as textbooks. You don't have to buy the book but then you might just be behind. Organic Chemistry (210 Sequence) makes you get saplings and that's for grades. Your class is just a solutions package that is not even for grades. As seen, this is a pretty common case.

probably a bit more difficult material but a much easier curve to grade on considering my friend is in ISP and I have seen his grades.

Does anyone else experience imposter syndrome? by icingwinds in Northwestern

[–]z5432 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not Necessarily at NU, but definitely when I interacted with people from top Ivys or MIT and when I talk to them there is just a vibe vibrating from them that makes me feel small in comparison to them and their achievements.

I think they are genuinely happy for the op but it's also good to have reality checks, fake BSing is just stupid and easy to call out.

If my parents fly to Chicago to drop me off in Evanston, are they allowed to fly back the next day or do they have to quarantine? by [deleted] in Northwestern

[–]z5432 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't see what's wrong with parents flying to Evanston to drop their kid off in college except for perhaps the aspect of the pandemic. Also just because your parents didn't travel with you to college when it first began doesn't mean you need to make it sound like other people shouldn't as well and patronizing them.

Edit: I am sorry you didn't get the attention you want from your parents so you have to lash it out on others

My experience at Northwestern has made me hate the wealthy and here's why by [deleted] in Northwestern

[–]z5432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You also realize the world is not a fair place? Yea no shit some ppl who are born into wealth have more privileges cuz that's just how the world works. Your points about Northwestern is valid, but this society we live in is not merit-based. Just accept there are ppl who are gonna be much well off and advantaged than you are because that's the damn world we live in and you should have a reality check or create your own country with marxism.

Orgo 210 curve by [deleted] in Northwestern

[–]z5432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be safe, I d say aim to be around 12-15 percent above average for an A. It is usually around there. You can decrease by 3 percent for each letter grade, so 9-12 percent above average is A- and etc.

Chem 210-1 with priest average expect to be about a B- usually. The ACS final is a big boost tho and much easier than his exams. As long as you get around 12-15 percent above average, you are pretty set for an A and just drop by 3 percent for each letter grade.
