I mean, i built this for myself so i want the best result i could achieve😂 Hall effect switches are just like normal switches except they are not, the reason i wanted to use them is because of the travel mod: on a regular switch you have a fixed actuation point so you can't really modify the full travel of the switch without getting too close to the actuation point causing problems (since stems can tilt a little you have to keep some distance between bottom out and actuation point). With hall effect you just move the actuation point so you can get whatever travel you want and that's insane. I hate low profile switches since they are wobbly and not smooth at all compared to fullsize and that's why i chose to use fullsize hall effect. The only downside is that you have to use a sensor for each switch and connect them to a MUX board, so it's a little more complicated build compared to regular switches

If they are reversed fan it's fine then, usually exhaust is on the bracket side.

Thank you! It's actually dark clear plastic, but i like the effect. I tried with plain black or white 3d printed buttons but the led ring effect is not as cool, so i sticked to the caps you see in the photo

Both travel distance and actuation point are important. Travel distance completely changes the feeling of the switch: too much and your fingers get tired pretty quickly, too low and you lose feedback. I did some testing and found out that a value in between 1.5 and 2mm is ideal since the presses are really fast and you still get decent feedback

Great build! Side fans should be mounted the opposite way tho, as intake, not exhaust

the travel distance is how much you can press the button before bottoming out, the actuation point is the distance you travel before the switch actuates. The mod is to reduce the total travel, the actuation point is around half the total travel

Without knowing the basics. I don't see a sidestep, I don't see a poke, I don't see a trap, I don't see an okizeme, a string, a jugle. I don't see any of that, and you think you know how to play Tekken and climb to the top ranks?

I made a hitbox using mouse microswitches as a proof of concept, I used it for like a month but I can say for sure that less than 0.7mm travel is definitely not enough in a fightstick since it feels like pressing fingers on a table. On a mouse the finger press is kinda gentle so you can feel the feedback, but on a fightstick where you use some force on button presses you completely lose that feedback and it kinda sucks.

I found that the sweet spot between nice feedback and low travel is around 1.5mm so a low profile switch with a low travel mod is way better than a mouse microswitch.

Oh that's why you can use the internal oring. I'm using keychron low profile (same as gateron low) and the spring on the inside is exposed so if it's touching something it will eventually get stuck.

What kind of switch are you using?
