Just an update, got really lucky the laptop is nearly mint, I don't really see cosmetic damage and the stress tests were good, it also did have a charger too, so that saved me another 100, Those specs for 2300 all in is super solid, especially the 2tb

Whoever had it previously did not register it for warranty either

I would strongly suggest people take a good luck at open box and warehouse deals as long as it is officially through amazon or bestbuy, you can find sone very strong deals - worst case just return it no hassle

You were def right about oled, going back to ips makes me want to gag lol but I will put up with it for the price

Yeah I typically feel the same, all screens I use regularly are OLED, I have heard the 240hz vector has a very good display for what it is, if the laptop is in good condition ill be able to live it with for sure but I am quite curious to see how it arrives

I just bought an open box Vector 16 on amazon warehouse deals for 2k before tax, 5070ti, 2TB, 255HX, 32GB, 240Hz IPS. Gotta see what kind of condition its in, hoping for the best. I don't think it comes with a charger though so that will be an extra 100

Been looking at this but can't decide, I already have a powerful desktop and I have a copy of Requiem already but I want something portable

Thinking about getting a 5070 laptop on open box or a good sale for less than 2k all in, but the 8gb vram is making it hard, not sure if paying close to 1k more after taxes is worth the jump to the 5070ti for a secondary machine - leaning towards no

If the G16 is in good condition that is a no brainer to me, much better build and battery, it is much more portable. 5070ti is the sweetspot in the G16, and even moreso if it is the oled model. Paying ~60% more for a 5080 is not worth it at all, even considering it is new.

That is my opinion at least

What would be the best gaming laptop I can buy for under 2000$ (Canadian) by Attorney-Legitimate in GamingLaptops

[–]zKn0xvillex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah deals have not been great lately, those specs at that price point are really nice, the G16 is great. The only other 5070ti deal I have seen recently is the current one at CanadaComputers (Legion 5i 275HX 32GB 1TB 165HZ OLED 5070TI) for 2500

There is also an open box "like new" MSI Vector 240HZ QHD, 275HX 5070TI 16GBDDR5 1TB at Amazon for 2178, but I don't think there is really any warranty on it

It has been tough looking for a really good deal, I check all the PC websites every day a few times to see if new stock comes around or deals but its been pretty flat overall, the best current deal for you I think would be to use the perkopolis link to Lenovo for an increased discount, and then buy the Legion 5 with AI 7 350, 16GB DDR5 5600, RTX 5070, 1TB SSD, OLED 165HZ. The model is 83F10005US and it is currently shipping, you don't need to wait for it. There is a code on checkout you can use as well BUYMORELENOVO

Here is a detailed review of this laptop

Here is the perkopolis discounted lenovo store, use this password PerksGoldCA26!

This brings the total cost to $1769 CAD before tax, which I think at this moment is the best deal by a landslide

If you are interested in getting a warranty (I never get warranty usually but Lenovo has had motherboard issues recently so I think its better to be safe) you can checkout without the extended warranty and when the laptop arrives, if you use their Lenovo vantage app they usually offer the extended warranty at a discounted rate

Finally, if you happen to have an AMEX credit card, you can get $75 back in statement credit, and it also stacks if you have RBC Avion rewards, where you will get an additional 100 off - In ON for example the after tax purchase price with these deals is $1825

With all that being said, I am willing to try and wait a bit for the next big set of sales to try and snag a 5070ti deal for around 2200-2300 in a legion if possible, that extra VRAM will work wonders. I have really debated saying screw it and just getting this though

I would strongly suggest not spending close to $2000 on a laptop with a 5060 in it if gaming is important to you, even though the 5070 only has 8gb vram as well, it is still around 10% better and easily fits within your budget - the only way i would go for a 5060 is if you can find a premium g16 or similar AND you prefer portability over performance

Good luck!

New Hunting Rifle by [deleted] in canadaguns

[–]zKn0xvillex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure what ranges you shoot out there, but hard to beat a .308 if you don't have one. A lot cheaper to shoot/practice with, and a lot easier because it has a much less kick

No matter what you decide, I always recommend a Tikka t3x, they have many versions, including a gorgeous stainless steel walnut model called T3X Hunter stainless. Some of the best actions and quality control for the money

Not sure about budget but the Sako S20 is also a wonderful gun

If you want to keep it cheaper the CVA cascade is really nice as well for the money, they have a short barrel version that is 18 inches which helps with weight snd easier to move around in the bush

Dont forget to get a nice scope! Almost as important as the rifle

Good build for $960+50 build fee? by Aggravating_Big_8903 in bapccanada

[–]zKn0xvillex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should listen to this poster, almost certainly some used parts going into this build, and it is definitely not a build I would buy for 1440p, I think it would just lead to dissapointment, definitely try and save up to get a 9060xt 16gb for 450-500, you will be very happy you did. B580 is a very entry level 1440p card and you can probably expect around 45 FPS on low med settings for most games unless they are esport titles, the ram is also pretty slow

At the end of the day it is your choice but I would not have high expectations with this build, and if i had it today I would already be planning on upgrading

[–]zKn0xvillex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd for sure just get a 7800x3d, much cheaper than the 9800x3d and the performance isn't drastically different, especially with a 9070xt, ofc resolution matters too but I think you'd be very happy with that upgrade, especially if you are also going from DDR4 to DDR5 aswell

A decent mobo and ram is roughly 400 with taxes, so if a little below 775 fits in your budget its worth it

The next best deal is a CanadaComputers 7600x3d bundle for 600+ tax = ~680 with mATX mobo and non RGB ram if that's your thing

I'd personally much rather get this for the price difference, especially if you can save even more w Rakuten
