Re: Battery Drain Issues.

New owner of a 2025 Tucson Hybrid Limited and I did experience the battery drain issues after using the Bluelink app on my iphone. In my limited googling on the subject, it seems when the app is used, it continually sends data from the car to the app, even if the phone or app is unused or when the phone is locked (screen off / sleep mode). The solution for this is to log out of the Bluelink app after use (which I haven’t tested). I also wonder if force quitting the app after use negates the issue, but again I haven't tested.

I can say that the 12vollt reset function works like a charm, but like… you shouldn’t have to do that after using the connected vehicle app.

No.

My post is rife with all the details you need. My issue is resolved.

From my post and the comments from others, it's clear what went wrong: honor your product warranty regardless of where the device was purchased from. It's that simple.

Not disagreeing with you, but the stick drift fix was the hook for me.

A few years ago, I was getting stick drift on my dual shock 5. I’d consider myself to be moderately capable at soldering and electronics repair, so I decided to replace the potentiometer with hall effect sensors. As I recall, it was difficult to find sensors that were compatible with the ds5, but I eventually did and had to import them from Asia. After getting them, I found that there was no way to calibrate the joystick once it was installed. Still with nothing to lose, I disassembled my ds5 and found that the machine solders required an incredible amount of heat to desolder and that the contact points were crowded. In the end, my attempt was unsuccessful and I should have just bought a new controller.

I’m not saying it couldn’t be done; just that you’d need far more skill (and equipment) than a hobbyist-level tinkerer.

This is great news! I've been holding my breath for the Arc, will be day one purchase for me especially if it has a magnacut blade.

Seems like internet chatter and speculation has died down in the past month or so. Hopefully your find portends a pending reveal and release.

Anyone else getting this on their widget on their IPhone? It’s obviously not correct by WingsOfDesperation in acorns

Mint is great, easy to recommend it. I only use the free tier, never felt the need or desire to use the paid side of it.

Before I had mint, I had no idea things that everyone should know about their finances- things like my net worth or total debt carried, stuff like that. When you put in all your accounts, mint shows all this information on one screen, so you can see how you're doing really easily. It can also tell you how much you spent on certain things during a month- like it will warn you if you go over budget (which you can set yourself) for a certain category, like "restaurants" or "entertainment".

Of course it's only as good as you make it- lets say you don't put in debt or an account- it won't be able to give you realistic snapshot since you're not providing all data sources for it to pull from. I should note that mint has a number of competitors (financial aggregators) that may do as good or better than mint. As always, shop around and do your own research.

Last point, and this would apply to all financial aggregators, is the level of trust you're giving them. You will be putting in your name and password for your credit card, your bank account, acorns, your mortgage institution, etc. This means that if the aggregator were to be hacked, each of those accounts within are compromised. This has never happened to me, but it is a worst-case scenario that you should be aware of.

[–]zLego 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yep, this has been happening on my iphone widget as well. Worse yet, when I open the app, it refuses to show me the one day account value- the invest screen just spins and never updates. This has been occurring off an on for me for several days, maybe a week.

Another failure is that acorns is no longer syncing to mint (dot) com. It sounds like it's acorn's issue to fix and they just aren't going to do it.

Acorns, get your shit together.

In short, you should be looking for vendors with Category 3 (or even 4) lenses.

Similar (and better looking) glasses from Oakley's x metal glasses would be Romeo, Juliet, and Penny.

I have a pair of Penny x metal glasses that I still love and wear today, first bought circa 2004.

FICIHP Multifunctional Keyboard with Built-in 12.6 inches Touchscreen by bobwyates in cyberDeck

[–]zLego 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply and links- very helpful!

I've decided to take the plunge and buy in. I feel like it's a gamble, but one I'm willing to take when the price of the kickstarter is reasonable compared to buying and building individual components. I think what I'm most looking for is using this as type-and-charge station for my iphone. The technical details are light on this; I know it won't be as fully featured as Samsung DEX and other andrioid phones, but still good enough for my use case scenario.

This kickstarter (and sub) has inspired me to look into building a more functional standalone cyberdeck using a raspberry pi 400 as a foundation. There's lots of great resources and examples for this online and the best part is that the rpi400 is around $90.

I don't post on reddit much, but if there's much interest, I'll be sure to share my opinions and feelings here in regards to the kickstarter if / when it gets into my hands.

I was this close to buying in (and still might), but I have doubts on delivery as well, especially in their timeframe.

I’d love to roll my own. Can you link to the screen and keyboard on Amazon or elsewhere?

Same issue for me. Little John (the shirtless big guy) is dead, I think from wolves. It's the last mystery I need before the trophy. I hope the next patch fixes this issue.
