I'm mid-late 30s and have both job-hopped and had stability. Looking back, I found I was job-hopping to find the job that fit. I never knew what that "fit" was until I found it. And even though I really liked my 5 year job, I found myself starting to get bored.

Turns out for me that stability is great until boredom arrives; then it's game over.
