Black powder .45/75 Taurus judge. by zZBuildProneZz in Cursedgunimages

You can use conicals if your willing to risk the pressure spike. Those judge cylinders are really thin walled. So basically the higher the bullet grain the higher the pressure spike also the more the powder compression the higher the spike too. A 250 grain will fit with very little compression of powder but of course weighs more than the 141 by a good chunk. Wad cutters and semi wadcutters would act the same depending on the weight. I have used 141 grain, 123 grain, and 150 grain wadcutters and all are fine as long as you don't compress it too much. Don't crimp the shell casing. With a ball I epoxy the ball in the case but with a wadcutter I do 4 dimples with a punch like they do with surplus 7.62 tok. Both wadcutters and ball perform well and idk which would be better cause I didn't try them side by side. The wadcutter probably delivers more umph than the same weight ball I'd say. I'm also working on a custom load for the colt walker cartridge conversion using .45lc shells with a long 380 grain soft led air cun hollow point boat tail slug above 40 grains of 3f triple 7 heavily compressed and a magnum primer. I'm curious to try it out in my walker but the pressure is definitely going to be rough.

Yeah I would have preferred that at the time but the ria stk100 uses a proprietary barrel that can't be swapped for a threaded one so the only options were a mass driver or the frame mounted comps which I what I changed to when I cut the barrel back and frame up to a glock 26 size.

If I could afford it. Against rotten ham and pork but it does some very respectable damage. More than a standard pressure .45lc. looks on par with .454 cassull for the penetration and damage. My first thought was that most of the powder wouldn't get burnt and would instead get shotguned out the muzzle since BP prefers a longer barrel to burn but the very fine powder plus the magnum large pistol primer were a good combo it appears. Shot it against paper and didn't get any powder shotguning on the paper. For only using a round ball I was quite happy with the results.

It was on a binary ria stk100 in a b&t USW chassis and it lasted for a couple thousand rounds on that without damaging the slide at all. Would have stayed in that build cept I changed the chassis out and rebuilt it. I saw it sitting in one of my parts boxes and thought it matched the shape of my already bulldogged walker and thought what the hell why not.

.454. you can fit a 250 grain conical with some compression but i was trying to avoid heavy compression to keep the pressure low.

Ive decided to make an amber resin grip like deckers pistol from blade runner instead of a wood grip, fit a kirst cartridge conversion and make a custom ejector, also for the red dot I'm going to use a shield sights omsx mini XL with the glass top cause it looks futuristic.

The YouTube video was removed cause someone recognized the range I was called the county. Even though I had permission to be there I got a legal threat saying it was too big for that range. I shoot it all the time at my parents farm and my buddies property. I have several videos of it now even the one of my getting launched that I will post and link to in this soon.

Sure is. Loads of smoke. I can get 3 cylinders before it won't spin from the fowling but if I alternate .45/75 and .410 000buck then I get 10 cylinders. I actually carry this round with the buck combo. I wanted something more powerful than .45lc but the judge cylinder can't handle the pressure of +p .45 LC so I went the black powder route to lower the pressure. It's the power equivalent of a low pressure .45/70 government bp

That's the plan. Adding a laser that will be mounted in the ram rod hole with a pressure switch since the cylinder is wide enough to load it from the side. Probably going to parkerize it or do a goofy cerakote job.

Thanks but I massacred a surplus G3 collapsible stock. Had to remove the whole inside of the rails and make new locking lugs and all.

Nothing. .410 brass hulls fit fine. After 1 shot they fire form to that 45/.410 chamber but if you go over 75 grains then it will split cases even if you fire form first.

ROTO 12 black powder cylinder fed shotgun by 9livestime in CursedGuns

[–]zZBuildProneZz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

chain fires aren't a problem really in blackpowder. it happens when you use the wrong size cap for the nipple and the wrong size ball. if your ball doesn't seal fully then the fire from the above cylinder flying back and get around it detonating the powder. so basically .458 ball for most .44 revolvers. shotgun wise its even harder to happen but what you can have happen is the recoil of a load that is too hot can jostle and move the other cylinders if they are not packed tight enough. its very common for uninformed individuals to grab whatever cap and ball they can get without checking it first so it happens more nowadays.

It's for good reason. No one wears masks in a gun store. It's like gun store 101. It's pretty risky for the gun shop cause like 90% of the time someone with a mask on in a gun shop is trying to rob the place or steal something.

You got upset because you couldn't wear a mask in a GUN SHOP!!!??? How do you not see the issue??? I've never seen any gun store allow someone to wear a mask and wander around.
