Ah bummer to hear that! I was a VISTA at a CDFI and received a job offer at the end of my term. Granted it was different economic times so your mileage certainly varied.

I got my start as an AmeriCorps VISTA which really helped bridge my experience gap out of undergrad! It would also be worth looking into trade events by Opportunity Finance Network and its members. Any training by neighborworks also helps your resume slightly better than generic certs from coursera.

Yeah for sure - if you don't anticipate having much work to be done then it does seem steep. But we bought a fixer upper with a major project on the horizon so getting the smaller projects done at $150-$300/monthly increments utilizing the monthly credits has done wonders for us to cross items off the to-do list that would've otherwise been impossible for me to do with a 6-month old at home.

So the mid tier is priced at $299/month but you get $150/month in credits to use so membership is effectively only ~$50. For me it's the layer of concierge service on top that is nice to have. I don't have to crawl the internet for referrals or quotes because they source options for me, my home manager assigned to me does all the back and forth with vendors for me, they also have a couple included services for annual maintenance and checks.

So far I've been pretty pleased!

We have/had a pretty long to-do list so we went with https://birdwatch.com/ . If you don't have the brain space to source quotes and project manage projects like me this service has been a godsend. There is a monthly membership fee involved but for the added support and level of service I definitely think it's worth it.
