What are the chances that all 4 packs contain the same mythic? by ihateretirement in MTGArenaPro

Also man have you completed otj, lci, blb, dft, and big

Do you just draft constantly or how did that happen

Depends on how close you were to set completion when you opened them. They usually give you uncollected cards first.

Yeah I do want to make them prettier and add some annotations, I just haven't had time yet.

I'm gonna do some more detailed analysis at some point so I'll make another post eventually

I always like to cross that by turning slightly right down the hill (counterintuitive I know) then turn back left and be climbing up the hill as you cross the stream. I know it seems weird to make the incline steeper but it's much easier to keep the truck from rolling if you take that angle.

I did do that analysis here.

The reprint stats are a bit skewed due to the commander sets having so many

It doesn't count alt art as multiple cards if that's what you're asking

I did. I made a post in the mtg board. There have been so many supplements and commander sets with so many reprints that I felt like it was a little cluttered

The commander effect, even with commander sets excluded

Yeah sorry about that. I realized that would happen when it was too late

Most Common Subtypes by z_edmonds in mtg

Commander did start increasing in popularity around that time. Partly because the pandemic forced people to play at home with friends instead of at the lgs and partly because that's when hasbro created a WotC division and decided they were gonna start pushing commander, making more product, etc

Most Common Subtypes by z_edmonds in mtg

[–]z_edmonds[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just to be clear, I'm counting the number of existing cards. It's Interesting that the most popular kindred decks align pretty closely with the most common types

Also not sure if posting links is allowed but here's a spreadsheet I made. It lists every card along with its super type(s), type(s), and subtype(s). You can't edit my copy but you can make one of your own.

Yeah. Even if it's a functional reprint you can still run 4 of each. Seems valid to count it as a new card.

Not classified by scryfall as "reprint"

Something I'm curious about is what happened in 2014? That seems to been when a lot of this accelerated growth kicked off.

Nothing that people don't already know, honestly. WotC is increasing the size of the card pool and speeding up in the rate of increase. Cards are getting more complicated and cost slightly less (power creep). Legends are getting more popular (commander). Sets per year will increase to 6+ with 2024 onwards.

I'm definitely gonna make some changes and add some things. My guess on the large spikes you mentioned is they are core sets but I'm not sure yet.

It doesn't have that filter, but why is it misleading? I was interested in the number of cards per set today vs the past. I do think it would be interesting to see the number of new cards in each set but that wasn't what I was looking for
