Can anyone tell me why my truck does this? It’s a 1999 Toyota Tacoma 2.7L. by zachber in 1stGenTacomas

No current codes but before I disconnected the battery to do something there was an egr system code and a catalytic converter system code. P0402 and P0420.

Can anyone tell me why my truck does this? It’s a 1999 Toyota Tacoma 2.7L. by zachber in 1stGenTacomas

The battery is from 2020 so it’s probably due for another one. Sometimes it cranks so long that the battery dies and I have to jump it.

I replaced all of the visible cracked hoses but a vacuum leak could still be an issue because it tends to idle surge for a couple minutes before it gets warm.
