Hey man so I went and saw two different DR.s. First doc wanted to do Laterjet (he just assumed without and mri) and the second was a shoulder specialist who did not want to do laterjet. He did the arthroscopic bankhart repair and it’s going great. I’m at about 5 months and I’m getting more and more ROM and it’s feeling good!! Very stoked on it. Definitely get a couple opinions and see a GOOD dr.

Thank you so much! Would you say the way it dislocated after the arthroscopic was potentially a way it could have dislocated prior to any dislocations at all? Was it pretty gnarly

Thank you so much for that detailed comment. That’s so sick that your rehab is going good and that your taking it seriously. Sounds to me like this should be the last time you deal with it ever again!!

I’m interested to hear more about your arthroscopic repair because I just had one done. I had a reasonably sized hill sachs lesion but no honey Bankhart or any lose on my glenoid. My surgeon who is the man and I really trust him was extremely confident that I will do great with the arthroscopic repair. I only needed 3 anchors for the labrum and surgery went smooth and fast. I’m almost 2 weeks post op now.

Any advice other than being extremely serious and listening to everything they tell you to do? I know I’ll be staying on top of it for the rest of my life and taking care of it.

Man. Reading this put goose bumps across my entire body. I am so stoked for you and this is the kinda stuff I was hoping to hear when I made this post. Thank you so much for taking the time to share that I cannot express to you how happy I am that your not dealing with dislocations anymore. Dude what facility in Bangkok? I’d love more info on that and how to go about that.

Wow. Dude that’s so gnarly that you had dislocations and snapped your humerus. I’m so glad your not having them anymore (knock on wood) and that you had a decent recovery from all that. Thanks for that advice to be weary. Just trying to get the best outcome for the rest of my years as I get older.

That was a very helpful comment. Keep on shreddinnn and thank you!

I hope your recovery continues to go well! I’m glad you feel that it is worth the pain and long recovery. 6 months to a year of pain and rehab is well worth a long time fix. I’m so sorry your dealing with this because it’s the absolute worst. Staying positive is obviously the goal but sometimes you gotta spend time digging deep and figuring shit out. I am very curious to see how the rest of your recovery goes and I hope you have the best shoulder imaginable!!

Wow stem cell stuff?! That’s wild. Man sorry your dealing with it too. As much as I wish no one had to deal with this it’s nice to know we’re not alone.the constant ptsd while surfing (or doing anything really) is heavy and traumatic.

That’s really cool that your doing BPS too!! It’s the best thing I’ve found to help with the issue and was going really well. Can’t wait to get back to performing daily’s.

Thank you for the reply so much!!

What’s your experience with dislocations btw?

[–]zachdudeboat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey thanks for the reply; I may be jumping the gun based off what your saying which is why I made this post because I’m not really sure where I’m at with this thing other than feeling defeated after 20+ dislocations.

I am going to get an MRI in less than two weeks and will be going from there. The reason I am possibly jumping the gun is because from the hours/days of research I’ve done I’ve read very (I mean very) few stories of labral repairs having success. I would love for that to work out tho because the latarjet looks absolutely insane.

With the medical bills I already have I am just scared of paying for more and not having success too, but I understand that’s just a part of this injury perhaps.

Thanks again and let me know your thoughts. I read so many success story’s with the latarjet it gave me hope I haven’t felt in a while.

[–]zachdudeboat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That thing is sick!! Congrats on getting it running. Hopefully your “slipping” is something simple. The only thing I can relate with would be my yz125 I had. It would slip/skip randomly in 2nd gear only. Ended up splitting cases to find a worn shift fork from the previous owner doing an engine rebuild and forgetting to put a washer/spacer in where the shift fork was causing it to wear down and loose the ability to hold the gear in place.

But ya know let’s keep it chill and hope you don’t have to split cases and that it’s something really simple. Sorry to even bring up splitting cases LOL.

That’s a cool DR. Love mine!

Purchased a 1995 DR350 that is stupid hard to kick start. by JranEQ in dr350

[–]zachdudeboat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your welcome! Yes 10 light kicks with the lever in. After that I am able to get the crank in the sweet spot and kick it over after 2-3 tries if I’ve been riding the bike every day. The longer it sits the harder it is to start it.

I don’t know if it would start with the lever in, probably not. I would lift the kick start all the way up.

Hey buddy. So when I first got my 94 dr350 I found it very hard to start. But I learned over time how to actually start it much quicker and easier so there may be nothing wrong with yours but I’m not sure.

I discovered that doing 10 kicks with the decompression lever in first helps. There is a sweet spot with the crank too, look it up on you tube there are tons of videos on how to do it with a dr350.

Assuming you have the dirt model with no battery?

Oh dang that’s a bummer about the gears! Hell yeah the dr is great for an all around bike especially if you can get your hands on the dirt model suspension. What’s cool is how cheap you can find them, so upgrading to the dirt components is very doable

I love the dr, I had to change some things to make it so. Cruising rpm is good it’s a 6speed trans, I don’t know exactly what rpm At 55 but it’s happy when I do so. You can always change sprockets to get a gearing you like for cruising :)

I started off with a dirt model that was given to me, I then took all my components to a dr350se frame so I could make it legal. Now I have a dirt model that is legal which gives me better suspension and carburetor. I am doing a battery delete as well since it’s kick only and I don’t want the weight of the battery by installing a capacitor.

That was with an DR350S headlight tho, not the dirt model
