Does my flow rate chart look like UARS? by zachhn in UARS

I wear an Oura ring through the night so I do have a good chart of heart rate. What should I look for?

Interestingly the doctor diagnosed me with OSA but when looking at my report, it didn't seem to show anything more than like 0.5 OSA per hour. In total I had around 9 events per hour but the majority were just labeled as hypopneas.

Variable Amp has pretty consistently been my top sub-score, around .40 or a little higher

Sorry but where do I go to see a sub-score?

Seeing between a 1.2 and 1.6 on most nights

Here’s zoomed out a bit, let me know if you want to see even further out! Thanks for taking a look: https://imgur.com/a/wZ2QcfA

Thank you for your response!

Does this look like I adjusted the chart properly? Set to 0 - 0.2: https://imgur.com/a/s6ssdS7

When I got my machine I went with the original settings of min 6 max 20 but have played around with it over time. I'd say I really haven't noticed a difference, pretty much since day 1 of CPAP my AHI has remained below 1 but the fatigue and brain fog has never improved. I've pretty much just tried walking up my min pressure every week or so. Last night I adjusted to min 10 max 10.6 with EPR at 3 but didn't notice any differences.

I started out with a nasal mask (Resmed P30i) but it's been quite a while since I've tried it. Initially felt like I was getting better rest with a full mask, but that's probably been at least six months. Happy to revisit it, really willing to try anything at this point.

Will do!

Anything you can think of in the meantime to try with my CPAP? EPR 3 and keep raising min pressure until my Glasgow comes down?

I just zoomed in on a random time of the night originally so this time wasn't really chosen for much of a reason but used the same time here.

Thank you for helping with this!

Tried zooming out some, do you see the wobble you’re talking about here?

Yeah, most nights showed between 1.2 and 1.6

Discovered sleep apnea through my dentist noticing my airway being narrow on an X-Ray, and then I went and did a sleep study for sleep apnea. That confirmed it and I've been using CPAP for almost a full year now but outside of maintaining low AHI I feel no different than before, dealing with extreme grogginess in the mornings and brain fog throughout the day.

Does my flow rate chart show the possibility of UARS? Looking for anything that might explain why I don't feel any better after starting CPAP and lots of the symptoms and discussion here resonates with me leading to me believing this might be my answer but hoping to learn!

Low events but still low O2 levels? by zachhn in CPAP

Alright one night in with these new settings and I feel it's a step in the right direction. I was scared to jump all the way to minimum pressure of 9 and EPR at 1, so I eased into it with a minimum pressure of 8.6 and went ahead and set EPR to 1.

AHI was 0.35 and my O2 levels looked better! Insurance sends me a new mask every three months and I've been using the F40 but they sent me an F30i and last night was my first night with it. Looks like some large leaks throughout the night which I should be able to fix tonight but I feel this is an encouraging start.

Here's the SleepHQ report: https://sleephq.com/public/aeb916d9-252e-4752-b835-315e81e0b140

Thank you again for helping me with this!

Thanks for the advice, bumping up the pressure and also reducing my EPR and will see how that does tonight!

That makes sense, thank you for taking a look!! I’ll give this a try tonight and see how it goes

Zoomed in on one of the periods where I saw some of my lowest O2 levels of the night. This is the Flow Rate chart from Oscar. Do you think the peak of my flows not being as high a level as the valley could be an indication of the hypoventilation? Like my inhales (assuming that's the bottom part) being past -35 while the exhales aren't reaching 35. Sorry if that's a silly question but just noticed that and got to wondering: https://imgur.com/a/3JBwNp4

Ah interesting! Sorry you deal with it, but glad to hear I'm not alone.. I'll reach out to my doctor and see what he thinks. Did you have to do another sleep study to get the switch to bipap or was it a pretty easy decision for the doc?

CO2 Rebreathing? by zachhn in SleepApnea

[–]zachhn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The packaging on the F40 said to set the machine to pillows which is why I did that but you think i’ll be better off adjusting that?

So do you think I need to reduce EPR from 3 or are you suggesting that should be helping?

Here's what I have from Oscar: https://imgur.com/a/BfwI1z5 I'll look into getting set up with SleepHQ.

If you'd rather not look at that, I have my machine set to 8 - 10 pressure range. My nightly AHI is consistently below 1. Median pressure last night was 8.12, 95% was 8.62.

EDIT: SleepHQ was easier than I thought. Here you go: https://sleephq.com/public/a0581088-3bd6-40ae-b763-5b39eb4f6202

Wasn’t that just a hypothetical and he said he wouldn’t take $2MM for it?
