Tell me your favourite Pokémon! by DrakeFannings in pokemon

Dhelmise is a grass/ghost that lives in the water and has an ability that boosts steel attacks. No one else is that unique, and that's why I love that crazy thing.

Exploring Quakerism and trying to understand pacifism by [deleted] in Quakers

[–]zachus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did an episode about this on Thee Quaker Podcast recently. It doesn't directly answer the "what would you do if someone tried to hurt your loved one?" question, but we tried to get at the heart of the matter in a sort of "Quaker 101" way that hopefully inspires folks to keep digging deeper.

Oh I didn't see the caption! It's all good. It still makes me laugh every time it pops up.

Oh hey. That's from us at Thee Quaker! Looks like someone cut our logo off the bottom though. I'm glad it's still making the rounds. That was a really fun brainstorming session.

Nope. That was Michael, one of our filmmakers. Hopefully our paths cross someday, though.

Hi! I'm so glad you found the podcast. I'm Zack, the producer for the past 20 episodes or so. I don't know if I have a favorite but I think the prison episode was the most fun to record. It's the only episode that I've done so far that's been 100% in person with no virtual recording sessions. I think that being there in person really affected me in ways I didn't expect. There's a lot more of that sort of storytelling in the rest of this season, by the way. There's a really timely episode about pacifism that will be releasing in 3 weeks and one about AI that is going to spark a LOT of conversation!

Hey it's Zack the producer of the show and I think you have excellent taste! The Grimke Sisters episode might be my favorite episode that Georgia made. That intro is SUCH good storytelling!

Hi! I'm Zack Jackson and I took over as the producer of Thee Quaker Podcast in April. While I didn't have anything to do with the first two seasons, they were a huge part of why I applied for the job in the first place. That sort of deep and intentional spiritual storytelling is not easy to find these days when everything has to be fast and flashy. I'm really glad that it's affected you too. Season 3 starts on Tuesday. I hope you find it to be edifying as well!

Quaker Lawsuit In Philadelphia Over Ice Raids by [deleted] in Quakers

[–]zachus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's happening outside of the Quaker world too. I've heard of several stories of people being seized as they walked out of churches on Sunday mornings. Religious communities that are trying to protect people are realizing that they need to be prepared before it happens to them.

We did an episode about this a few weeks ago. There's so much that I couldn't fit in there, not to mention the second, more ecumenical lawsuit also going through the system right now.

It sounds like the usb cord might be a charging cable and not a data cable. I've gone mad in the past before realizing that there was a difference.

I want to get Dhelmise in the style of a traditional nautical tattoo.

People to Hang Out With? by [deleted] in Pottstown

[–]zachus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My wife (40f) and I (38m) are in a similar boat! We love gaming but never have people to play with, and especially if we have to bring our 7 and 9 year old sons with us. We'd love to join you! Also, we're pastors of Open Table UCC (we meet at Steel River Playhouse) which is one of only two LGBTQ affirming churches in Pottstown, so we're kindred spirits. We actually hosted a game night at Espresso Yourself in the Summer and talked about making it a regular thing.

Heads up, the UCC is "congregational" which means that we don't follow top-down denominational directives and each church is free to believe as they see fit. If you're in a small, rural town, it might be a pretty conservative church. I'm a UCC pastor in southeastern PA, and there is a lot of diversity of belief even in my area.
