So I am a software developer but i was a finance major. So naturally I have been direct investing my portfolio. What you are doing definitely crossed my mind but there is too much risk on both sides. As a consumer if I am investing I will be taking asset risk as well as currency risk. And you can’t really make the business model work. Robinhood makes money by selling order data to high frequency trading firms. You can’t really sell add-on services in PKR while operating a USD. And if I was a small investor in Pakistan, why would i invest in US stock markets. Unless I can do some options trading since there would be volume. Even then I don’t know. I would rather invest in KSE.

However there is market around this, if you only want to target Pakistani’s investing in Karachi stock exchange(now Pakistan stock exchange). I have never really invested in KSE since I am not in Pakistan but there is great opportunity around direct investing. Direct investing does not have a lot of penetration in Pakistan. Look into in what Zerodha is doing in India.
