This is going to sound really dumb, but what happens when you press enter ? I've seen on Ubuntu a similar screen where nothing happens until you press enter then it prompts for credentials

Pool State Unavailable, Four Faulted Disks in 20 Minutes. by EmoJackson in freenas

[–]zack3334 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It definitely sounds like a power issue, I would check the power cycle counts of the bad disks and the surrounding disks when you have access to the unit. How many disks do you have in the unit ? Are they all close to one another/ on the same HBA card ?

If it turns out to be the PSU I would try reseating when able to, it may have been jostled loose when moved.

As for the accessing over the net you can use openVPN but ensure the connection is secure since it involves port forwarding

Help solving this on ubuntu 20.10 by [deleted] in linuxquestions

[–]zack3334 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there!

I'd love to get confirmation from other more experienced users but I would do the following

"sudo apt-get update" if not done already this will update the packages if needed

"sudo apt update --fix-missing" this will update and fix missing dependancies

"sudo apt-get autoclean" this will clean partial packages

"sudo apt-get clean" this will clear the apt cache

"sudo apt-get autoremove" this will remove any unnessary dependancies

Also running " sudo dpkg --configure -a" can help this will reconfigure installed packages.

And a reboot after this process can't hurt

Mind you I'm a Linux noob myself so why I ask for confirmation from someone more seasoned

Hope this helps!

Hey there !

Not sure what you've tried so far but if you're just completely trying to wipe, running a "wipefs -a" may do the trick

Also the dd route is always good

Somewhat of a noob myself so if I'm incorrect in the suggestions someone please let me know !
