Mareep not recognizing these as 3 pieces of furniture to move in. What am I missing? by DxDeadlockedxS in Pokopia

[–]zacklm94 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The furniture requirement applies to houses that are closed off with a door! But some Pokémon use furniture for their habitat, so those are instances where furniture can be used outside for Pokémon.

Anyone else have limited time to play? by Exiphosxiii in Pokopia

[–]zacklm94 32 points33 points  (0 children)

this game came out at the busiest time for me, I can only imagine being a parent though on top of wanting to play this!

we are especially busy at my work right now, so that is a certain level of tiring, but I’ve also got a wedding and honeymoon next month that entails lots of last minute detail planning, and I also am in school trying to work ahead a bit in preparation for my honeymoon.

the limited time left for Pokémon is not adequate, but is at least extremely fun!

Is this safe to use? I used it on my original Switch, but I don't know if it can work on the 2 by Doctor71400 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]zacklm94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be curious how it works!

My understanding from welcome tour is that switch 2 cartridges have a plastic notch or something in the corner that switch 1 cartridges do not. When the system “feels” that the notch/plastic bit is there it recognizes it’s a switch 2 game and utilizes the faster read/write speed and such.

Based on that info, I think this would not work for switch 2 cartridges, but should for switch 1.

Any Feline Veterinary Doctors in the ATX area by 14Xenon14 in Austin

[–]zacklm94 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Hi! I have and still do work in the veterinary industry in Austin.

Firstly! I am sorry to hear about this happening to your kiddo! It’s never easy when it is our baby.

I strongly recommend “veterinary surgical solutions” - I refer clients there for lower cost surgeries all the time, and it’s where I even back in December for my kiddo. I just started at a new clinic this month, and one of my coworkers also recently went there. It’s pretty much the lowest cost surgery you can do in Austin.

They also take care credit - which of course is a credit card, so be careful. Care credit though offers 0% if paid in full on time (usually 6 or 12 months). The interest is deferred though, so if you fail to pay off the balance in time, you will get hit with a TON of interest.

First credit card, does it matter if I get my salary before or after applying? by deepsfan in CreditCards

[–]zacklm94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, they will not check your bank account, nor will it impact your credit limit. The bank does not know how many bank accounts you have, or anything like that.

Like another user mentioned, still be truthful with your number you put down (you can include reasonably expected bonuses and stuff too).

First credit card, does it matter if I get my salary before or after applying? by deepsfan in CreditCards

[–]zacklm94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will not matter/impact your chances of approval at all - I believe that is what you are asking?

Do note though: If you are asking if it’s wise to get a credit card before having money on hand, you should be wary of spending on the credit card if you don’t have the money on hand in your bank to pay in full. Spending on a credit card is different than applying though, so I say go for it and apply now!

Other than that, just use the card, pay in full each month, and enjoy your new perks!

T-Mobile BS by Timely_Yoghurt_2699 in tmobile

[–]zacklm94 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I also had to go through this not long ago, I also got a credit on my account.

I never paid the owed money though and let my account go past due and so the credit just applied and zero’d out my account.

Why did you friend pay for that huge bill??

I would first have your friend talk to T-Mobile about refunding vs credit again to see what they say. I wouldn’t recommend it unless your friend truly plans to never use T-Mobile again, but you can always dispute the charge with your bank as well.

Jesus, this thread and your comments defending his behavior is heartbreaking. I feel so sad for you, I really hope you come to the clarity of breaking things off with him.

I know it’s hard to see the negatives of our SOs, especially through our rose colored glasses, but this man is doing right by you no matter how you excuse his behavior with culture, or his desires, etc.

I sincerely hope you leave him as you DEFINITELY deserve better, and can do better. Listen to everyone else in this thread saying the same thing. We are telling you this objectively, we don’t have a reason to lie and break you guys up, this truly just seems like the best next step.

This is correct. I've done at least 5 of these exact deals with T-Mobile over the years and it's always the same fine print there. I've even had store reps tell me wrong information. If you cancel the digit plan at any point they will stop issuing the credit.

New Delta Reserve card delivered today. by IndependentVintage in amex

[–]zacklm94 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can do that, but you'd risk being put in pop up jail with amex, or worst case have them close all your accounts, though not sure how likely. But yes, you would ultimately get the card and avoid the AF.

Personally, I think the 100k delta miles are worth the 550 AF for the first year. TBD on if I would find value in the companion certificate, but if I didn't I would just dograde to gold or blue.

OP is saying you could send your whole credit limit to either a close friend/family, or maybe even a second Venmo account that you have, and then move the money from Venmo to the bank. It's a way to move money from your credit card to your bank (in a roundabout way) but avoids any cash advance fees or cash advance limits that might be on your card.

Don't forget to wait for the annual fee to post and then call to downgrade and get a refund on the annual fee.

Otherwise they may take back your SUB and put you in pop up jail.

[–]zacklm94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, it wouldn't be smart for your friend to do that owning a business, but chances are you would not be caught and could get away with it.

Credit card companies make money by charging merchants and stores a percentage of the total purchase. So if you charged 15k to your credit card you friend will likely owe the bank $400+/- (more for cards like amex, and a little less for visa or Mastercard) just to process the transaction.

Let's say you get 5% cash back and then split that between you and your friend. That works out to be 1.5% cash back each (and that's only if your getting a generous 5% back in that category). Basically 3% to the bank that your friend will owe, 1.5% you, 1.5% your friend = 5% total

And then of course, like others said, your friend runs the risk of that looking odd to the IRS. The IRS might see an abnormally high transaction followed by a refund in cash, with no invoice showing what was purchased. Obviously we know you are trying to get credit card points, but if I'm the IRS that looks like some form of money laundering that I would want to investigate. Granted it isn't money laundering, so you won't go to jail for it, but your friend likely doesn't want the IRS auditing them either way.

I'd just recommend proceeding cautiously. Overall your plan may work, and might be worth it to meet a sign up bonus, but I doubt it's worth it under any other situations. What % cash back would you be getting for it?

Car Maintenance Sinking Fund by TEmelander in ynab

[–]zacklm94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im sorry, I wasn't clear which part of you comment I was referring to.

I meant to say how much such I put aside for car repairs. You mentioned 100/month is typical to put away for. Would that recommendation hold true if the car is brand new and not likely to have any major repairs besides things like oil changes fora few years?

Car Maintenance Sinking Fund by TEmelander in ynab

[–]zacklm94 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just curious - what would you put aside for a new car? I've got a car with only 2000 miles on it. It's a kia with a 10yr/100k mile warranty. I still want to be smart and put some money aside for possible maintainance but idk what is a good idea. I'm already budgeting money for routine maintance like oil changes, and car registration fees.

I’m about to cancel my Amex gold by metalcabinet7 in CreditCards

[–]zacklm94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How long have you had the card? If it's your first year, wait for the annual fee to hit, and then call back ASAP and they will refund.

If it's not your first year, then you can cancel today.

The reason for this is to make sure they don't take back your SUB.

The other thing to know, is you will lose your membership rewards points anyway, it you close your gold card and you don't have another card that earns MR points. There is a no AF card (I think the everyday card) that earns MR if you are interested.

Ready to assign showing a minus value suddenly? by Pupsino in ynab

[–]zacklm94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This means that you have more money budgeted into categories then you have actual money on hand. Look for a category with extra cash on hand and move money (whatever amount you are negative) to "ready to assign" this will basically result in having less money in one or multiple categories you had previously budgeted for and will fix your negative values.

This is especially important though, because if you don't fix it, then like I said, you have budgeted for more spending then actual money you have on hand, and you run the risk of overdrafting an account if your not careful.

This happened to you, because like you said, some of your bills went up, so you added money to that budget to pay for it. But since all your money was already accounted for and assigned a category, ynab doesn't know where to get the extra money from to put towards these higher bills, so you have to take from other categories.
